An intense fight broke out early in the morning on the first checkpoint of the military base.
Four of the soldiers were in critical condition.
On the other side, the wolves had one casualty and five injured.
Following Lin Weihao’s order, Wang Chul had someone grabbed the wolf’s carcass before it was dragged away by the other wolves.
This wolf’s corpse was sent to the laboratory located underground.
Professor Zhang Heng, who was working on the husbandry area was called into the laboratory to see something.
The moment he saw the wolf, he was astounded.
"My goodness! I never saw such a big Eurasian Wolf in my entire life!" He exclaimed in shock.
The average length of an adult Eurasian Wolf if 110 to 160 cm from nose to its tail.
But this particular wolf’s length is twice of that, even its height was out of norm.
Not to mention, its limbs were longer too and its fur looks like sharp needles.
Professor Zhang Heng quickly wore protective gears like gloves, mask, medical gown, and goggles before approaching the carcass.
He had heard about the wolves that appeared last night and because he was busy in the husbandry he was unable to see it closely.
But now, he can conclude that the base residents didn’t exaggerate at all.
"Professor, the base director wanted to ask for your help." Colonel Tang said.
"I’ll try my best." Professor Zhang Heng nodded.
He was also curious as to why this wolf grew to be this big.
….
The road towards Qianhe Mountain’s bomb shelter was full of mudslide.
The survivors heading to the base had to trudge extra carefully because the road is slippery and full of sharp debris underneath.
One mistake and they’ll end up getting wounded.
That was only their concerns at first.
But yesterday in the afternoon, a cold mist enveloped the road, coming from the direction of the Furong Lake.
On the foot of the Qianhe Moutain, were several village thatch cottages.
Some cottages survived the mudslide and became their resting spot.
The first half of the night was good but when dawn came, screams broke out.
The survivors awakened to the source of the sounds and found black-haired and red-eyed rats big as a watermelon were attacking the survivors, biting their limbs and trying to drag the bloody survivors to the depths of the mountain.
"Help, please someone help me!"
"Ah! Please help me get them off!"
Gu Ling and Boss Kang were amongst the survivors.
When they saw the rats, they quickly run out of the thatch cottages and pushed the surrounding survivors towards the rat horde to save their lives.
Following them were Boss Kang’s ex-crooks.
These cruel acts was seen by the other survivors and they clenched their teeth.
"Don’t panic! Find something to like a torch and lit it up!" Someone spoke.
The survivors quickly did as their told and this includes the elderly couple.
