Elena had clearly rushed over in a hurry considering how out of breath she was when she arrived. Yet she seemed intent on pretending this was just a chance encounter.
From the moment Elena appeared, Kevin's gaze kept drifting toward her. At that moment, I knew exactly who's orders he was following.
When Kevin's gaze met mine, he quickly averted his eyes with a guilty expression. But he couldn't fool me.
"Julian, Serena has a boyfriend now. We should be graciously wishing them happiness," Elena said as she walked over. She then looped her arm through Julian's.
I sneered silently as I stared at Elena, not saying a word.
"That's impossible!" Julian glared at Kevin with gritted teeth. "How could you possibly be Serena's boyfriend?"
"Why not?" Kevin said with a greasy smile. "Your current girlfriend is beautiful and kind, so why are you trying to stop someone like Serena from being my girlfriend?"
I frowned. I didn't care if Kevin wanted to grovel in front of his sugar mommy, but why did he have to drag me down while doing it? What did he mean by "someone like Serena"? Was he implying that someone like me could only end up with trash like him?
Seeing that I was staying silent, Kevin actually raised his disgusting hand again and tried to put it around me.
Enough was enough!
I sidestepped his hand and slapped him hard across the face.
Everything happened so fast that Kevin stood there in a daze.
"How dare you hit me?" It took him a while to react. He was clutching his face as he stared at me in disbelief.
