Who would have thought traveling with a large group could be fun?
Penny didn’t know that until she experienced it. The plan was that this trip was only for Zoren and Penny — a honeymoon! But this wasn’t so bad at all.
The large group explored the town with Benjamin as the tour guide. Benjamin boasted to everyone that he had been to this place many times. Surprisingly, his cousin had lived there for a few years, so Benjamin claimed that he had grown up there, even though he had only visited during the summers.
They were able to try some street food, chat with the locals, tour around the place, and buy some things. Penny’s itinerary was much simpler than that, but it was still more enjoyable than she expected.
Before they knew it, it was already night.
"Time felt like it just passed," Penny mumbled, now at a restaurant Benjamin recommended for dinner. She giggled as she recalled something funny from the day. "Lily, how was the worm we tried?"
Lily pouted at the playful Penny. "Penny, you said it was good!"
"Heh!" Hugo snickered. "Miss President, you’ve been friends with my sister and yet, you’re still not used to her antics?"
"When Penny says the food is bad, it means it’s so good she discourages others from having it all for herself," Slater chimed in knowingly. "But if she says it’s good and you should try it, be more suspicious."
"But it’s actually good," Penny argued with a chuckle. "I like it."
"You like it because you eat everything. It’s why you are hea..." Atlas trailed off, furrowing his brows, sensing the deathly glare in his way. Looking up, all he saw was everyone staring at him with the same blank expression. Even so, for someone of Atlas’s caliber, he could read what that expression meant:
[Are you really going to say it, First Brother?]
Atlas was right because that was what everyone was thinking... except Penny. Even Mark was shaking his head, wide-eyed, warning him to bite his tongue.
"It’s because I’m... what, First Brother?" Penny asked, smiling kindly at him.
"Heavenly!" Allen jumped into the conversation to save his boss, laughing awkwardly and loudly. "That’s — that’s what he’s trying to say. Miss Penny is heavenly good with good food!"
"Heavenly... I agree." Zoren nodded, making his brothers-in-law furrow their brows.
"I think he’s talking about something else," Ginnie blurted quietly, only to hear Lily’s hush.
"He is talking about something else," Lily said quietly. "But I don’t think this is the time to clarify things with her brothers at the table."
"What does that mean?" Ray blurted out, confused. "Zoren, are you saying that Penny is — ack!"
Ray almost choked as Max shoved food into his mouth while the latter said, in a dead tone, "This food is nice, Ray. Try it. It’s so good!"
’Wait! Your fingers are in my mouth!’ was what Ray was trying to say, but Max kept shoving food into his throat. ’I’m going to choke!’
"Anyway, since it’s getting late, Ginnie and I will go back to our hotel after this. We shopped a lot today and..." As Lily was explaining their plans for after dinner, Ginnie couldn’t help but look back.
Ginnie’s face twitched as soon as her eyes landed on the mountain of shopping bags. ’It’s not we, but it’s just her. Ninety-eight percent of that is Lily’s.’
Thinking about it, Ginnie couldn’t help but wonder how Lily had been surviving her trips. After all, Lily had no self-control when shopping. Ginnie could help with those ’groceries’ but couldn’t help but wonder how Lily would manage it on her own.
"Miss President, how are you going to carry those?" Hugo asked out of pure curiosity, cupping his face after jerking his chin toward the shopping bags behind Lily. "Do you need help?"
Lily clasped her hands together, smiling from ear to ear. "Great! Just when I was about to ask for one!"
