Everyone who had seen the article — those aware of Slater’s relationship with the woman he was being linked to — and was now staring at Slater’s latest post on the most popular social media platform had only one question in mind.
"How is this supposed to fix anything?" Atlas blurted, staring at the tablet in utter confusion. "He must be losing his mind."
Atlas shook his head, a little worried, especially since Allen had rushed to his office because of this article. But after seeing the post, he decided it was not important. The article could be easily debunked with just one family photo.
"This is ridiculous," Atlas said, handing the tablet to Allen, who was standing in front of his desk. "Let it be. Slater’s losing his mind, and if someone’s losing their mind, just let them be. They’ll get it together, eventually."
"Huh?!" Allen wrinkled his nose as he accepted the tablet. "Sir, isn’t what you just said the least effective way to deal with someone who’s losing their mind?"
"With my brothers, it’s different," Atlas said, readjusting his posture and resting his arm on the desk, preparing to dive back into work. "I’ve tested this theory with Hugo. It’s best to let them be. Hugo always loses his mind when he’s away from the combat zone. This is the same with Slater. The man’s finally having his first vacation since his career started. Don’t worry. He’ll eventually find something to occupy his mind and time."
With that, Atlas returned his full attention to the document he was working on. As for Allen, he just stood there, staring at his boss with conflicted eyes.
"Well." Allen sighed in defeat. "I guess I won’t need to contact Mr. James about this, then."
"Mhm. They can settle this on their own."
Allen lowered his head a bit, deciding not to push the matter further. Atlas might be busy, but he was never too busy when it came to his family. He had always been involved in Slater’s career, helping the agency whenever they needed an extra hand. So, if Atlas deemed this article unimportant, then it probably wasn’t.
Besides, how could it be important? The woman Slater was being linked to was his sister!
With that realization, Allen quietly approached the exit, intending to let his boss get back to work. But just as he reached the door, he stopped and looked back.
"Sir, about the charity event tomorrow evening..." Allen hesitated, his eyes on Atlas, who had also paused and looked up.
"I’m coming," Atlas said. "It’s the last event I’m attending before and the Pierson Corporation’s annual celebration."
Allen smiled. "Ito Motors and the Miller family will be there."
"They’re not important," Atlas said, jerking his chin mildly toward the door. "Don’t stress yourself out over insignificant people."
"Yes, sir."
Allen lowered his head once more before stepping out of the office. As soon as the door closed behind him, Atlas clasped his hands together and took a deep breath.
"Ito Motors... and the Millers," he whispered as the corners of his mouth curled upward.
From what he’d heard, Ito Motors had shifted to the Millers because they didn’t want the proposal Atlas had sent them. Chairman Bennet had let it go because of the Pierson Corporation’s influence. After all, since Zoren had sent his first golden invitation to Atlas’s office, many large business entities had been practically begging Atlas to work with them.
Atlas had already selected a few and was currently in negotiations with them. Zoren had also discreetly dropped his approval of Atlas’s choices.
A short, faint laugh escaped Atlas as he shook his head. "The charity event..."
Atlas raised his right eyebrow, leaning back as he thought about Ito Motors and the Millers. He tapped his fingers on the armrest, deep in thought. After another minute, he sat up, reached for his phone, and prepared to contact someone.

[Pierson Corporation: CEO’s Office]
Benjamin pressed his lips together, clutching the tablet with teary eyes. ’I rushed in here to tell you Miss Penny is being linked to her brother!’
But then again, why would Zoren care?
"Wow." Benjamin blinked, staring at this man who seemed so simple yet was a high-ranking soldier. Thinking that Penny had sent Hugo to guard Zoren, his heart warmed. ’Miss Penny, you’re the best! Did you send him here because you know the board meeting is coming up in a week?!’
