Chapter 834: Big sister

[MAMA Restaurant]

Right after Charles, Haines, and Stephen’s ride arrived at the restaurant, Jessa was already standing outside to welcome them. When Haines tried to open the door, Jessa suddenly kicked it back to make way for herself, leaving Haines momentarily stunned.

Knock knock.

"Who is she?" Stephen narrowed his eyes, staring at the woman knocking on the side of his window. "What kind of brute does your wife hire for the parking space?"

"Did she just... kick the car door?" Haines looked back at Charles, unable to believe that, even now, Jessa was still ruthless with him. If only Haines knew that Jessa’s ruthlessness extended to everyone, not just him.

"Uh, why do I have to see her immediately?" Charles mumbled, shaking his head as he shifted his eyes to Stephen. "You should open the window."

Stephen frowned. "And why would I do that? I don’t even know her. You two, get out and leave me alone. You’ve already arrived."

"Yes, we did, but you saw how she kicked the door for Haines, right?" Charles sighed. "Just open the goddamn window."

"Charles Bennet, I’ve had enough of your nonsense. You’re no longer the head of the family, nor do you have any position in the company. Therefore, you cannot just boss me around."

"I’m not bossing you around. That woman will break the window if you don’t." Charles jerked his chin toward the window, making Stephen turn his head.

As soon as Stephen’s eyes landed on the window, he saw Jessa walking away, only to reach for the small barricade and drag it toward the car.

"What the— is she insane?!" Stephen gasped, seeing that Jessa didn’t seem like she was planning to stop. "Is she a rogue?!"

"She’s worse," Charles and Haines answered in unison, making Stephen look back at them in disbelief. Seeing the seriousness in their eyes, he didn’t question this anymore.

They might not have gotten along well, but Stephen grew up with these two. Thus, without taking his eyes off them, he wound the window down. Otherwise, that crazy woman might actually break his window.

"Oh!" Jessa clapped, then knocked on the window as it was only halfway open. "Open."

Stephen glanced at Haines and Charles, only to see them nod at him. Another sharp breath slipped past his nostrils as he rolled the window down completely.

"Oh, good boy," Jessa mused, resting her arms on the window as she bent over. "So, you are his and his cousin, huh?"

She pointed at Charles and Haines before flashing Stephen a big smile. "And you’re the one who told Alison our cheap restaurant would go bankrupt."

"So what—" Stephen’s breath hitched when Charles suddenly stretched his arm and hooked it over his shoulder. He looked at Charles in dismay, only to see the latter smiling at Jessa nervously. ’What does he think he’s doing?!’

"Hey, Jessa, dearest big sister, that’s not what he said."
