Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 292

Not only did Wanelle’s pretentious pleading not get Verian’s forgiveness, but she was also humiliated by her instead.

When Heaton returned to the room in his patient’s uniform, Verian looked at him curiously and said, “What did you say to Wanelle outside earlier? I think I noticed her leaving furiously.”

Heaton raised his brows and said while approaching her, “Nothing nice.”

Verian curiously probed deeper, “What is it then?”

Verian could not imagine how Heaton would look like when he was scolding people since Heaton was an elegant man even while he was dressed in a patient’s uniform.

Heaton would make anyone feel that he was cold, prideful and a gentleman. Even if he radiated a gentleman’s elegance and how distant he made anyone felt, he would not give anyone too much of a bitter look or sometimes, he could be gentle. However, one could never imagine how he would look like when he was furiously yelling at someone.

Heaton had no intention of telling Verian because he did not want Verian to know that he was capable of scolding anyone.

If Madam Fudd learned from his bad influence, would that not indirectly affect him as well?

The sound of a nurse knocking could be heard from the outside.

“Mr.Fudd are you there? Can I come in?”

Verian found it comical when she heard how cautiously those nurses were behaving.

Ever since that nurse had felt Heaton’s fury from the last time, knocking before entry was completely seared into her memories.

This proved just how scary Heaton could be.

Heaton laid on the bed and spoke in a calm voice, “Come in.”

The nurse entered after he said that.

“I’m here to read your temperature.”

The temperature had to be taken once every morning and night in the hospital, routinely.

After the temperature was taken and when the nurse was just about to leave, she was suddenly stopped by Heaton.

“Hold on.”

The nurse was stunned in fear. She was afraid of behaving out of line and offending Heaton.

However, Heaton instead handed her a fruit basket and said, “My wife is allergic to mangoes, this is for you.”

The nurse was stunned but Heaton forcefully shoved the fruit basket into her arms. His gestures were not gentlemen like nor was it elegant.

The nurse was confused as she bashfully laughed, “This, how can I take this?”

Verian spoke with a smile, “You were taking care of both me and my husband so just take that fruit basket and it’s not too bad sharing with your colleagues as supper.”

Heaton’s speech sounded cold and whenever he was not laughing, it would make anyone think he was rejecting them miles away. However, when Verian noticed his smile, he seemed quite warm and welcoming.

However, Verian seemed like a nice, patient person, and sometimes even an easy bully target. Therefore, the nurses obviously dared to talk to her.

“Thank you Madam Fudd.”

“Don’t mention it.”

After the nurse left with the fruit basket delightfully, Verian rested her chin on her palms while staring at Heaton who was looking at some documents, she said with a smile, “Heaton, you really are scary.”

Moreover, he was not a sociable person.

Of course, Verian was talking about his ability to socialize with friends and not the connections he made in business.

Heaton obviously had his own temperament when it came to business so that point was irrelevant.

However, in his day to day life, who would want to interact with someone who was not keen on speaking?

Heaton’s gaze never left the documents but he spoke, “Are you hoping for me to speak gently to that nurse?”

That… would not be necessary.
