...And sure enough, the voice belonged to Sophia.
Zivon had always had a good impression of that woman. After all, she was never sloppy, and she always got the job done as well. What’s more, he never felt unpleasant whenever he talked with her. Because of all that, she was one of the few females he considered to be a friend, despite how many other female presidents he had worked with before.
Shaking the thought off, Zivon then lowered his documents as he replied, “It’s nothing. That aside, what brings you over this late?”
“Well, you had left in a hurry last night, so I wasn’t able to pass a message to you… Thankfully, I bumped into Nathan while I was leaving work just minutes ago, and after he told me that you were still here, I decided to come to your office to speak with you.”
The old lady had fallen ill again last night. Even so, she was still much more focused on the blind date’s progress… Knowing he couldn’t stall forever, Zivon had told Sophia to tell her how things were going… and following that, the old lady ended up talking with Sophia for ages.
It was already pretty late at the time, and worried that Xavia would wait too long for him, he ended up bolting to the hospital the second everything was over. He hadn’t even bothered sending Sophia home… Despite that, the second he arrived, he was only greeted by Xavia’s coldness… For some reason, she always pushed him away. It was almost as though they weren’t already a couple…
Irritated by the thought, Zivon then rubbed his temple as he muttered, “…Go on…”
“Well, Lady Burton told me a lot while you were away… Basically, she hopes that I’ll keep an eye on the app, and that I should immediately notify her if I ever find someone who meets the criteria. After all, she wishes to look into the candidate’s background. Regardless, if she isn’t satisfied, she plans to keep looking till she finds an appropriate wife for you. You should also know that she flat-out said that she hoped that I was the one for you…”
…Ava was as straightforward as ever… After giving a sigh, Zivon—who now had a slight headache—replied, “…I see. Thank you for informing me of this, President Harrison… When the time comes, you can just refuse her request since the information will be available to the rest of the world anyway… Just ignore the rest…”
