Sophia clenched her fists tightly. Did he know? She didn't feel guilty about it because it was Xavia—the person who got her mother killed. Even if Zivon was there, she would still want her dead! However, to avoid giving him a bad impression, she had to control her emotions.
How could she get out of this one?
As the atmosphere grew increasingly tense, Xavia quickly put down the shoes and walked up to them. “Miss Harrison is right, Young Master Burton. When I was cleaning earlier, I forgot to close the closet doors and windows and a lot of dust got in. I only had to rinse them with water, so it was easy to do. You two haven't eaten yet, right? I'll go cook now, dinner will be ready soon.”
She left with a smile and a pleasant expression, and only then did Zivon manage to compose himself.
Sophia was relieved. She said, “You didn’t come home last night and I heard from the secretary that you weren’t in the office either. Where did you go, Young Master Burton? Coincidentally, Xavia did not come back either.”
Zivon narrowed his eyes. Judging by what Sophia said, she probably did not find out anything from Xavia.
He did not care to lie and did not think he was violating the rules. After all, the contract only said that he must not be intimate with other women in front of her… it did not say that he couldn’t do it away from her.
However, if he did tell the truth, Xavia would be in trouble.
After thinking about it, Zivon asked lightly, “Does the contract state that my itinerary must be accounted for?”
It was simple but firm. Sophia was stunned for a moment, and then felt embarrassed.
Any man would hate being questioned by a woman about his whereabouts, let alone a man as high and mighty as Zivon! Also, she didn't mean anything to him, so he would not care about hurting her if he was displeased.
She quickly explained, “It’s not that. I had a nightmare and woke up, and when I didn’t see you at home, I was curious. It’s fine. I’ll go settle some documents since I’m planning to go back to work in two days.”
She walked away, and only then did Zivon let his guard down. He turned around and walked out.
He wanted to go to the kitchen to see Xavia, but he figured that it might upset Sophia and cause even more trouble for Xavia. Hence, he headed in another direction and went to sit on the sofa, then took his coat off and started to read the newspaper.
