Zivon knew that man was not as simple as he looked, and hummed absently in response. “I’ll talk to my uncle about it some other day.”
“Yes! Brother Zivon, you’re the best!” Fiona said excitedly with a wide smile.
She ignored Xavia the whole time.
Xavia watched everything quietly. The reason why he did not want Fiona to get married was clearly because she was one of his women.
Strange… Xavia already knew that they had an unusual relationship and it had nothing to do with her, but why did her heart feel so troubled?
Splash!
Suddenly, something cold hit her chest.
Xavia gasped and shivered. She quickly looked down and saw that a glass of red wine had been spilled on her.
The cool scarlet liquid slid down her gown, staining the fabric red as it seeped into it. It felt cold and uncomfortable.
“Ah, I’m so sorry! I did not expect my knee to hurt suddenly when I stood up, and I lost my balance a little. I’m really sorry… Let me wipe that off for you.” Fiona was apologetic and anxious as she grabbed a wet paper towel and dabbed at Xavia’s chest.
It might have seemed like an accident in the eyes of others, but how could women not understand women?
Ever since they met, Fiona had been hanging onto Zivon’s arm and chatting with him so intimately. That had clearly been a sign, but now, she was blatantly targeting Xavia by spilling red wine on her.
Xavia stood up and pushed her hand away. “There's no need for that, I’ll go to the bathroom to take care of it.” Her tone was curt and direct—she really hated manipulative and pretentious women the most.
Fiona's amber eyes instantly became watery. “Sister Jenna, are you angry? I'm sorry, I really did not do it on purpose. You can scold me if you want… I made a mistake and I am willing to take responsibility for it.”
Fiona's meek tone made it seem as though Xavia was the one being unreasonable and unforgiving.
Xavia frowned, perplexed.
