Zivon looked at her and his eyes darkened a little. After that, he said in a deep voice, “It seems you shouldn’t worry about this matter. Instead, you better think about how you are going to please me. After all this time, do you have an idea already?”
To please him!
It was at this critical juncture right now, yet he still thought about that irrelevant issue?!
Xavia really felt like hammering him to death. However, he was the patron whom she could not afford to offend. She threw a tantrum the last time in exchange for such a huge consequence, so she would no longer act wilfully.
She pursed her lips and said, “I’ve already thought of it. Don’t urge me.”
“Are you sure you aren’t stalling for time so that you can run away later?”
Jenna would wake up in the next day or two. So, he had good reasons for suspecting her too.
Xavia glared at him. “I’d like to do that but will you allow it?”
“I won’t allow it.”
“Exactly.” Why did he mention it then?
Emotionally overwhelmed, Xavia hopelessly leaned against the car window and looked at the busy traffic outside.
When would this matter come to an end?
On the other end, Charles and Dylan were also busy scratching their heads at this moment. “What is going on? Didn’t I wink at you to chase after that woman as soon as she left? Why didn’t you catch her?”
“We finally discovered a breakthrough, but she is gone now. Did you see Uncle Zivon’s men? Perhaps Uncle Zivon acted fast and his men took her first.”
The secretary shook his head apprehensively and said, “Sorry. I really tried my best to chase after her immediately but she seemed to have disappeared into thin air without leaving a trace. As for Young Master Zivon’s men, I saw them but they seemed to be looking for that woman too.”
In other words, it was neither them nor Zivon. Who could it be then?
“Could it be that the woman went into hiding because she was worried that the Burton family would go after her?” Charles deducted.
Dylan said, “No matter what the reason is, that woman definitely has key evidence in her hands for stepping forward and speaking up so daringly. We have to find her.”
