The antique shop had all sorts of rare calligraphy and water-colored paintings, as well as all manner of exotic-looking treasures. Even so, those weren’t enough to prevent Zivon from turning around to look at the two people who had just entered.
After a brief pause, Zivon narrowed his eyes slightly, causing a chill to spread around the shop… Even Jenna’s expression fell slightly.
The sight of Xavia made her remember the time when Zivon had angrily forced her out of his car back then. At the time, she had thought that there really was no future for their relationship, and that things would only get worse and worse.
To her eventual surprise, however, Zivon preferred staying at home to accompany Maison after work these days. Speaking of the boy, he no longer pestered Xavia, and he was quite well-behaved as well. In a way, it seemed like Xavia had ceased to exist in their worlds. With that in mind, Jenna had figured that it was only a matter of time before Zivon completely forgot about her.
Unfortunately, Xavia just had to show up again today! Still, Zivon had been completely ignoring Xavia ever since Keith officiated their relationship. With that in mind, now that they were meeting face to face, perhaps Jenna could try something…
Thinking about it for a bit, Jenna eventually smiled before saying, “Good day, you two. Are you here to choose a birthday gift for grandma as well?”
Xavia knew for a fact that Jenna was aware that there was nothing going on between Keith and her. Despite that, here Jenna was, still shamelessly putting on an act… Even so, Jenna was simply doing this to make Zivon hate Xavia more.
Since this was what Xavia wanted as well, she looked away from Zivon’s gloomy face before replying, “…Indeed.”
As for Keith, he knew exactly what was going on in Jenna’s mind. Even so, he couldn’t help but feel slightly unhappy that Jenna was so keen on pushing Xavia toward him. After all, Keith was sure that he had given Jenna much more than Zivon ever had. What was so good about Zivon anyway?
Now feeling pissed, Keith squeezed Xavia’s hand a little tighter as he forced a smile while saying, “…As the future great-granddaughter-in-law of the Burton family, it’s only natural for Xavia to participate in great-grandma’s birthday banquet. That aside, our relationship is honestly quite complicated… What I’m wondering is if Xavia should call him Uncle Zivon or Brother-in-law…”
Keith’s question made several of the customers’ faces tense up. As for Zivon, no matter which it was, both sounded equally distasteful.
