With that in mind, she was prompted to say, “…Look, nothing happened between me and him. For context, while it’s true that he did try to do something to me, I was already planning to refuse by the time you came over. Now that you’ve heard my answer, could you please leave…? I spoke only the truth.”

Based on her last sentence, it was clear that she was worried that he wouldn’t believe her. Regardless, though Zivon was satisfied with her answer, he didn’t budge. The prestigious man simply laid down on his bed before pulling the quilt over them…

What the hell was he doing?! Now simultaneously annoyed and ashamed, the irked girl was just about to squirm her way out when suddenly… both of them heard the click of the door. Frightened, Xavia immediately laid flat, not daring to move a muscle.

It was a good thing that she did, too, since the one who had entered was Keith! Staring suspiciously at Zivon—who was still lying in bed—, Keith was prompted to ask, “Oh? Uncle Zivon? Are you having your lunch break here?”

Zivon had evidently not had his lunch yet. Regardless, Zivon then sat up and plopped his feet on the floor, allowing Xavia to be perfectly hidden under the quilts. Following that, he replied in an indifferent tone, “My bed isn’t just to sleep in during lunch break. Either way, why are you here?”

Staring at Zivon’s poker face, Keith then gave an emotionless smile as he said, “It’s nothing much, really. I just heard that Xavia had come over to sign the house contract with you, so I figured that you two would still be together. Has she already left?”

Giving a grunt, Zivon then gave Xavia’s small hand—which he had been holding onto this entire time—a tight squeeze as he replied, “She left about an hour ago.”

This made Xavia momentarily go silent. Wasn’t he ashamed of that lie at all…? That aside, the warmth in his hand was slowly transferring into hers, causing her perturbed heart to slowly beat faster and faster…! It was already hot under that quilt to begin with, and Xavia found it hard to even breathe now...!

Xavia’s train of thought was cut short when she heard Zivon say in a serious tone, “Keith, did you know that if forced open, Melons won’t taste good? In the end, only ripe ones are delicious.”

Naturally, Keith immediately understood Zivon’s metaphor. With that, he simply smiled as he replied, “True, though honestly, one will only be able to check whether it’s sweet after splitting that melon open and having a taste.”
