Chapter 67: Chapter 67 Collecting Gasoline
The family got out of the car one by one, and Su Jin asked Lin Cheng and Mao Qiqi to temporarily stay inside, lest there be any accidents and someone snatches the car away. Lin Cheng understood this and did not ask to get out of the car with them.
Mao Qiqi sighed internally, she really wanted to join them, but if she did, her family would take extra care of her, and that might slow them down, so she reluctantly agreed to stay with her uncle and keep watch over the car.
“Girl, it doesn’t seem like there’s anyone around,” Nie Qing had felt the surroundings a moment ago and did not detect any human presence.
Su Jin nodded but still urged everyone to be careful and cautious as they followed. Just because there were no people didn’t mean that there were no other things. In the Apocalypse, danger was everywhere; even a small flying insect could take a person’s life, so one must be extremely vigilant at all times.
Inside the gas station was a minmart with its door wide open. Lu Hao raised his pistol and walked at the front, ready to shoot at any moment. After he entered and looked around, he found that there was no one inside.
He shook his head to signal the family, and they followed him in.
“That’s great, Su Jin. Can we now take everything here?” Lin Xiuyuan’s eyes gleamed as he looked at the unattended minmart in front of him.
Seeing her family looking at her with eager eyes, Su Jin couldn’t help but shake her head. Did her family have the same hoarding trait as she did?
Understanding the situation, Lu Hao turned off the surveillance camera, to avoid letting others discover the matter of the Space.
However, Su Jin didn’t take everything from the minmart.
She did take all the frozen food in the freezer, knowing that the city’s power supply system would collapse before long, and leaving the frozen food here would just be wasteful. So, she decided to take everything into her Space.
But on the shelves, she left some instant noodle buckets, food, and water. In case Survivors found this place in the future, they could still replenish some food and water. If no one came, leaving this bit wasn’t too wasteful.
Nie Qing saw what Su Jin did and nodded; leaving a way out while not being overly compassionate is indeed a very good way to deal with things.
Mao Zhihang, noticing the cigarette-filled shelves behind the cashier counter, asked Su Jin to take those as well. Although they did not crave cigarettes, he knew that they could be useful as a gesture of goodwill or as bartering chips in the future.
With each passing day, Su Jin’s respect for Mao Zhihang grew; his ability to adapt to life in the Apocalypse was indeed strong.
Once they had taken these items, the family prepared to continue collecting gasoline before leaving. There turned out to be reserve fuel tanks behind the gas station. Just as Su Jin was about to take the two large fuel tanks into the Space, suddenly, they heard two horn sounds.
Is it Lin Cheng?! Did he encounter some danger?
As it turned out, Lin Cheng was vigilant while waiting for them. He saw the family exit the minmart and go to the backyard of the gas station. Then he noticed three stray dogs leap off the roof of the minmart and head towards his family!
The three stray dogs were clearly not normal; besides being covered in blood, despite their small size, they managed to jump from such a high roof. They couldn’t possibly be ordinary dogs!
