Chapter 80: Chapter Eighty: Food Crisis
On the eighth day of the Apocalypse, a massive blackout began around the world, and people realized that their cell phones and all kinds of communication devices no longer worked.
Citizens who had still been able to contact the outside world suddenly felt as if they had been cut off from society, with even their radios failing to receive any signals anymore.
Panic finally erupted.
At the same time, many families who had stocked up on food and drink had run out, and they had not seen any improvement in the situation.
People also discovered that zombies, which had appeared sluggish before, could now run rapidly, some even leaping to great heights, and some zombies could even spew fire, water, and effortlessly lift buses to smash against the tightly closed doors and windows on both sides of the streets.
It was then that people realized that the end of the world had truly arrived.
Although a portion of the population had awakened to Special Abilities, they had no idea how to use them, and certainly didn’t know how to leverage those abilities to combat zombies.
Su Xiangmei hadn’t left her house in a long time. Ever since her husband had turned into a zombie, she and her son Luo Hui killed him and had been hiding at home ever since, not daring to go outside.
And now, the last grain of rice from their rice bag was gone.
“Mom, I’m starving. Can’t you go out and find something to eat?”
Luo Hui was in a particularly bad mood. He had always been rebellious, looking down on Su Xiangmei because she often gossiped about other people’s affairs. Now, after being stuck at home with her for so long, he could barely stand it, becoming more irritable with each passing day.
“Who dares to go out with things the way they are outside? You just care about yourself and not whether your mom lives or dies!”
Su Xiangmei was furious, but she indeed had no solution at the moment; there was nothing left to eat at home. Even the leftovers they had previously tossed into the trash had been picked out and eaten. If only they could go to the Lin family’s warehouse to grab something…
After hearing Su Xiangmei’s idea, Luo Hui thought it was a very good one. It had come to this point, and even if they had to steal or loot, no one would manage them. Besides, the Lin family was related to them. Borrowing a little couldn’t be considered too bad, right?
Only, the thought of the many zombies outside still scared Su Xiangmei.
“Scared of what? I took down that strong guy Zhang Da, and even Chen Jiahan and Big Boss Guo were planning to head out these days. Killing a few zombies together with them is not a big deal.”
“Big Boss Guo, Guo Xinghuai? Didn’t he just get out of prison? How are you in contact with him?”
“Big Boss Guo has his ways. Besides, if you don’t stick with tough people now, how are you going to beat zombies?”
“This is the place!” freewebnøvel.com
