Gong Chen walked to the window, pulled it open, and threw a cigarette to his friend, lighting it with one hand cupping the flame.

His friend pocketed the cigarette but didn’t smoke.

Looking at Gong Chen through the mist, he couldn’t help asking, “Who is this woman, actually requiring you to personally accompany her? When Song Wanqiu was injured, you didn’t stay with her for even one night. That morning, I saw you leaving another ward; it couldn’t have been hers, could it?”

His friend nearly stumbled.

Gong Chen fell silent for a moment.

The doctor added, “Right, why did she ask me about child organ donation? She’s so young; she shouldn’t have children, should she?”

Gong Chen’s gaze turned cold, seemingly as a warning.

The doctor spread his hands, “I won’t ask, and I won’t speak.”

Gong Chen stubbed out his cigarette and left the office.

At that moment, Lin Zhiyi was standing by the window in the corridor, waiting for her number to be called for the check-up.
