Chapter 48: Chapter 48 Letting Nature Take Its Course

Chapter 48 -48 Letting Nature Take Its Course

Lin Zhiyi’s long hair was messily pushed to the front of her forehead and back of her head, with water smeared on her face, which looked pale with a sense of fragmentation. The steam-covered lips resembled freshly washed grapes.

Water droplets flowed down, soaking her hospital gown.

The blue and white striped hospital gown clung tightly to her skin.

In places she couldn’t see, her beautiful collarbones were exposed, along with the fullness accentuated by light-colored underwear.

Lin Zhiyi had no idea what had happened, only feeling that the man in front of her was breathing somewhat heavily.

She stepped back, he approached closer.

Finally, there was no way to retreat.

He was right in front of her, with a domineering gaze that did not bother to conceal itself, like a beast eyeing its prey.

He raised his hand, Lin Zhiyi held her breath, clutching the ring in her hand tightly.

Suddenly, a dry towel landed on top of her head.

“Let’s go,” his voice was so hoarse it was barely melodious.

“Uncle, your ring.”

Lin Zhiyi took out the ring.

Gong Chen took her hand and, using her hand, slid the ring onto his thumb.

Lin Zhiyi did not understand what it meant, only feeling a breeze pass by her face, followed immediately by the sound of the door closing.

She didn’t give it much thought and went into the shower cabin, only realizing how exposed she was when she started to undress.

A wave of shame filled her. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

After showering, Lin Zhiyi walked out of the bathroom, drying her hair.

Her hair was still wet, and she had to sit dryly on the edge of the bed.

Suddenly, a fluctuating breath stopped in front of her, and she was momentarily stunned.

“Uncle?”

“Don’t call me uncle,” Gong Chen was somewhat impatient.

Before Lin Zhiyi could speak, the sound of a hairdryer came from above.

A few minutes later, the hairdryer stopped, and a pair of large palms brushed her hair, supporting her head.

She froze for a moment, her hand involuntarily clenched into a fist.

These slight movements were all caught in Gong Chen’s eyes, and his deep gaze gradually faded.

He said coldly, “Go to sleep. You don’t look like you need to eat anything else. Gong Yan has sent enough for you.”

Lin Zhiyi was startled for a moment, immediately understanding his implication.

Worried about Gong Yan’s fate, she blurted out without thinking, “It wasn’t elder brother’s idea, it was mine.”

As soon as the words fell, Lin Zhiyi felt a condescending gaze upon her, her fist clenched tighter, her fingers whitening inch by inch.

Gong Chen, seeing her care for another, couldn’t help but sneer.

“Protecting him? Shifting targets?”

His voice was a low, cold murmur that breathed danger and displeasure.

“No,” Lin Zhiyi glanced up slightly in response.

She couldn’t implicate Gong Yan.

But as soon as she finished speaking, the big palm cradling her head tightened slightly, and her body involuntarily lifted into the air.

She couldn’t see Gong Chen, but she felt those deep, pond-like eyes slightly squint, an intense sense of oppression breaking free.

“Is that so?”

“Yes! To me, you and elder brother are no different.”

Lin Zhiyi couldn’t stand the suppression and immediately raised her hand in a struggle.

She managed to pull down Gong Chen’s arms, perhaps emboldened by her lack of sight.

“No different? Say that again,” Gong Chen’s voice took on a threatening tone.

Lin Zhiyi choked, unable to speak a word for a long time; she stubbornly turned her head, as if only turning away could detach her from this oppressive feeling.

Gong Chen commanded, “Lie down.”

Lin Zhiyi scoffed, then turned over and lay down.

“Uncle, if it’s because of Song Wanqiu that you’re treating me this way, you really don’t need to. I can’t bear it; you two have done enough already, it doesn’t matter this one more time.”

Gong Chen stood by the bed, looking at her indifferently, “Do you have evidence of what we did?”

At last, he added, his tone unemotional, “I don’t want to hear such words in the future.”
