Chapter38
Esteban looked at Roger in surprise as he didn’t know about it at all.
“What lawyer?” Esteban asked.
Roger pursed his lips and replied, “She said he’s her divorce lawyer.”
A hint of danger appeared in Seymour’s eyes as he asked, “That man
wears glasses?”
Roger swallowed with a bit of nervousness as he knew that Seymour was
angry now.
He replied hesitantly, “Yeah… Maybe?”
Seymour snorted coldly and remarked with some sarcasm, “She can really surprise me.”
With anger, Eugene pulled Felicia away and said to her earnestly, “Licia, don’t waste your time on them! Neither your husband nor your dad is some good man!”
Neither Seymour nor Esteban treated Felicia well.
Esteban was biased against Felicia just because she was his adopted daughter
Seymour was a scumbag who didn’t even know that it was the baby shower for his daughter today! And he even wanted to talk business with Eugene!
In Eugene’s eyes, both Esteban and Seymour were scumbags whom he would never do business with.
Facing Eugene’s protection, Felicia felt warm in her heart. She smiled, “Alright, Mr. Galvan, don’t be mad because of them. Well, you didn’t tell me you’d celebrate your granddaughter’s school progress today. I’m the last one to know about it.”
With that, she took out a stack of cash and wanted to stuff it into Eugene’s pocket. But Eugene immediately stepped aside, saying, “Wait! You… What are you doing? Licia, don’t do this, OK? Or I’ll get mad at you.”
Felicia explained with a bitter smile, “Mr. Galvan, I’m really grateful that you helped hold this baby shower for Mina. Please take this money for your granddaughter. I just wanna congratulate her on her graduation.”
She specifically asked Emma to get some cash for her just now.
But Eugene refused to take her money.
He said, “Alright, I know you have money now. Just keep it yourself. I’m already happy to hear your congratulations on my granddaughter’s
graduation. But Mina is also like my granddaughter. So just keep this money for her.”
Eugene’s words made Felicia not sure what to do now.
“Alright, Mr. Galvan.”
“That’s good. You’re my student. You don’t have to be so humble in front of me, all right?”
Anyway, Eugene wouldn’t take Felicia’s money.
After she divorced, she would have to take care of her daughter alone. She needed money!
When Felicia and Eugene got back to the private room, Darrick immediately rolled his eyes and bantered, “Well, well, well. Eugene, you’re quite a big shot now. You’re the last to come to Licia’s daughter’s
22-27
baby shower.”
Eugene snorted and retorted. “Unlike you who was idle, I was doing something for my good student just now, OK? I taught those who bullied Licia a good lesson!”
