Chapter 177
Ethan seemed to be smoothing things over for Xandra, but she wasn’t fooled
Xandra knew that if she simply agreed with Ethan, it would only highlight that she
meant nothing to Lukas.
No one, not even someone as busy as Lukas, would be too busy to see his family. Xandra didn’t believe that for a second, and no one else would either.
If she backed down now and allowed others to see how Lukas was treating her, it would make it clear that her position in the Roxcente family was less than insignificant.
Xandra knew Ethan well enough. As the heir to the Baker Family and someone already deeply involved in the business world, Ethan had a different perspective from someone like Chloe, who had come from nothing.
She could deceive Chloe, but she couldn’t fool Ethan.
“I know he is busy, but I’m sure he can spare a few minutes for me.” Xandra said, her fingers tightening around her phone as she forced herself to remain composed.
With a proud tilt of her chin, she pulled out her phone and began tapping slo
Her heart, however, was in turmoil
slowly on the screen.
Just as she was about to dial Lukas’s number, she saw Carl entering through the front door,
Xandra’s eyes lit up, and she immediately stopped herself from dialing.
She turned toward Carl, lifting her chin slightly in acknowledgment. “Mr. Sanders”
Carl was carrying several large bags with the “Raille Hotel” logo, heading toward the elevator.
As he heard his name called, he paused and looked toward the source of the voice.
Then he saw Xandra, She was in her luxurious designer clothes, with her proud, elegant demeanor. Carl’s face stiffened for a moment
But his professionalism kicked in, and he quickly composed himself, walking over to Xandra. “Miss Roscente, how can I help you!”
Xandra’s gaze briefly flicked to the bags Carl was holding. She raised an eyebrow slightly, feigning casual interest. “Lukas hasn’t had dinner yet?
Carl smiled and nodded. That’s right,”
A glint of joy flashed in Xandra’s eyes. Her mind worked quickly, and she came up with a suggestion. “These were taken from the restaurant. I’m sure they’ve lost their flavor. I haven’t had dinner either, maybe Lukas and I should go to the restaurant together,”
As she spoke, she gave Chloe a subtle look.
Chloe quickly caught on, offering a sweet, soft smile as she stepped toward Carl. She reached out to take the bags from him, saying, “Let me handle these. Mr. Rosenie has been running around all day–he deserves something better”
Carl glanced at the two, finding their confident attitudes almost too much to bear.
When Chloe reached for the bags, he carefully pulled them back. “Miss Roscente, I appreciate the offer, but that’s really not necessary. Mr. Roscente specifically wants food from Kalle Hotel”
Carl emphasized the words “Raffle Hotel”
If it weren’t for his professional demeanor, he might have rolled his eyes at the absurdity.
Raffie Hotel The food there was some of the best in the city.
People were constantly trying in book reservations, and even the wealthy couldn’t always get in.
The idea of a high–end place like that sending food out was almost unheard of
Carl knew the only reason he could deliver the food was because Sophia owned the place.
Every dish in those bags had been specifically arranged by her for Lukas
Carl know how I ukas adored Sophia. He was sure that the moment Lukas found out she’d set this up, he’d be more than happy to enjoy it
Cari anapped neat of his thoughts and turned his attention back to Xandra.

Chapter 177
He’d worked closely with Laikas for years, and he could tell Lukas didn’t have much of a relationship with her.
There had been multiple occasions where she’d tried to engage Lukas in conversation, but he’d completely brushed her off.
His attitude toward Xandra was the total opposite of how he treated Sophia.
Carl always believed the key to being a good assistant was understanding the boss’s emotions,
And he was pretty sure Xandra and Sophia weren’t even on the same level in Lukas’s eyes.
Chlor’s hand hovered awkwardly in the air. She bit her lip and glanced at Xandra, waiting for her to take the lead.
Xandra’s expression darkened. She hadn’t expected Carl to turn her down so quickly, without even consulting Lukas first. He had flat–out rejected her on Luka’s behalf.
She clenched her fingers but kept her face neutral. Fine, If this is what he really wants.”
Carl let out a quiet sigh of relief.
He was glad that Xandra was at least smart enough not to press him further.
With a polite smile, he said. “Well then, Miss Rosrente, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll go ahead and deliver the food.”
He nodded respectfully and started to walk toward the elevator.
But just a few steps in. Carl noticed something off.
He turned around to see Xandra, with her bag in hand, walking right behind him.
Chloe and Ethan were trailing behind her.
Carl nearly froze in shock, quickly halting, T’m sorry, anything else I can do for you?”
