Chapter 84
Celeste feared that Adrian might say something even more shocking. So she quickly changed the subject. She asked, “Mr. Wrenford, are you thirsty? Would you like me to get you some water?”
“No,” Adrian replied casually. “I just came by to take a look. I’m about to leave.”
“Alright then.”
After taking a few steps, Adrian came to a sudden stop.
Celeste, who had planned to see him off, didn’t expect him to halt so abruptly. Her forehead met the back of his suit jacket, and she could still feel the warmth of his body through the
fabric.
Adrian instinctively reached out and steadied her arm as he turned.
Their gazes locked, and the air between them seemed to crackle with an almost flirtatious energy for a moment.
Once she regained her balance, Adrian withdrew his hand and asked, “The grand opening is the day after tomorrow, right?”
“Yes,” Celeste quickly responded.
“I’ll have someone send you a flower arrangement to wish you a smooth opening.”
“Thank you, Mr. Wrenford.”
Celeste smiled softly, and he continued to stare at her for a while before finally looking away. It wasn’t until he entered his Maybach that she finally looked away.
Although Adrian and Damien shared the same bloodline, they felt like completely different people.
Adrian seemed aloof on the surface, but his actions were as warm as the winter sun. On the other hand, Damien appeared distant and indifferent, and that was exactly how cold and unfeeling he was.
Celeste tidied up a little, then prepared to head home.
The next day, Celeste spent the entire day at the clinic, organizing all the medicines and placing them neatly in their respective cabinets.
Once everything was sorted, all she had to do was wait for the big reveal.
