What Lucy Katz did not know was that this villa had already been bought in her name.
She just did not know about it.
Joel Foster had done all of this without telling her.
This included the people who were carefully handpicked for Mama Katz. He had seen them one by one, checked their backgrounds, and was only willing to hire them if he was confident in them.
It could be said that he was more concerned about Mama Katz's affairs than his own.
This was also why Lucy was so easily moved by him.
It was because he was truly and genuinely trying to help her.
He truly wanted her to have a good life.
As she thought of this, she could not help but turn towards him and gave that man a grateful glance.
At that time, Joel did not say anything. Instead, he left it to Lucy to show Mama Katz around the villa.
Mama Katz praised the villa repeatedly during the tour.
"It's so beautiful, this villa is so big and comfortable."
The praise was accompanied by a soft grumble to Lucy that it was all too expensive.
"All these things cost quite a lot of money! Lu, although you earn a lot now, you can't spend it so generously. We're ordinary people, so there's no need for all this extravagance. In fact, I think that the small apartment you had before is just nice."
Lucy smiled bitterly and helplessly.
"Mom, that apartment was spotted by the paparazzi. We can't live there, we’ll be pestered if we live there."
Mama Katz was stunned. Only then did she remember that Lucy had wanted to tell her something over the phone the last time but did not manage to.
The last time she had asked, Lucy had only said that she would wait until she was discharged from the hospital.
Now that Mama Katz was finally out of the hospital, Lucy should be able to tell her what was going on.
As she thought of this, Mama Katz asked directly, "Lu, what happened to those reporters you told me about that was squatting outside your apartment the last time?"
At the mention of this, Lucy's face sank.
She rubbed her brow tiredly and said softly, "It's nothing. It was just someone spreading rumors on the internet. Mom, don't worry. There are plenty of situations where celebrities encounter something like that. I don't care anyway."
Mama Katz frowned slightly at this.
"I don't know how to surf the internet and I don't know what happened, but if those people are too outrageous, you better sue them. We’re still humans who need to live and breathe. Even though you're a celebrity, it doesn't mean that you can be simply scolded and chased out of your home."
Mama Katz always had a gentle temperament, but this was the first time Lucy had seen her so firm.
Lucy could not help but be amused.
She nodded her head repeatedly. “Okay mom, I know what you mean. Don't worry, I’ll do so."
After this matter was done and dusted, it was her turn to say something about her relationship with Joel.
As she thought of this, Lucy turned her head to look at the man.
Perhaps they had read each other’s minds because just as she turned her head to look over, the man glanced at her too.
Their eyes met, and with just one glance, they both understood each other's meaning.
Lucy smiled at Mama Katz and said, "Mom, let's go sit in the living room. I have something I want to tell you."
Mama Katz was stunned. Judging by her expression, it seemed as if she did have something to say.
Curious, she asked, "What is it?"
“Let’s talk downstairs."
