The other party tried to scare them with the threatening atmosphere. However, unbeknownst to the other party, they were not even in the picture when Nell and Gideon were actively involved in the domain.

Regardless, they were still on other people’s territory.

Gideon stoically asked Jean, “What happened here?”

Jean herself was terrified and so she blurted out everything that had happened while trembling.

It turns out that Jean was partying in a different bar called Nocturne but after a while, she realized that it was no different from any other bar and got bored.

She heard about an exciting underground bar from a woman she was drinking with so she went along with the woman.

Sure enough, Jean experienced so many new and amazing things when she got there.

She was elated and her night was a blast.

However, Jean did not know when that woman had left, and only then did she notice that a man was stumbling over to her, looking like he was going to harass her.

Jean liked to pride herself on her status as a Lady of the Leiths while out and about, but in reality, she was no pushover.

She could not do much but self-defense was no issue since she was forced to take up judo in the past by Old Madam Quinton. It was also why Gideon was fine with her going out alone.

Thus, Jean noticed something was amiss with the man and subconsciously pushed him away. What she did not expect was for him to stumble back, take a look at her, and pounce on her.

Jean could smell the stink on his body and internally puked before forcibly kicking him away.

Unfortunately, while the struggle was happening, the man lost his balance and slipped, with his head crashing into the glass coffee table beside him and he died.

Jean was petrified in shock.

She liked to act silly and had never really done anything great or notable in life, but she had never killed someone either!

So when she used her finger to check and confirm that he had stopped breathing, her first instinct was to run. However, someone had already noticed the scuffle and before she could even leave the room, Jean was surrounded.

She had some bodyguards with her but there were only two or three of them against a whole crowd. Not to mention that the situation was not in her favor, so the bodyguards were useless here. One could not just kill someone and leave peacefully.

With that, Jean was left with no choice but to call Gideon for help.

Gideon’s face turned darker when he heard the situation.

Nell tugged at his sleeve, reminding him that they were in public and that he should not blame Jean first. So he turned to the man in front of him.

“Don't worry, if my aunt really killed someone, we will take full responsibility. But before that, can I take a look at the deceased?”

The man agreed when he saw that they were not agitated or trying to avoid responsibility and were very reasonable.

Nell walked over and knelt down to inspect the body. The man had a bruise on his face but it was covered by a tattoo which was likely why Jean did not notice it before.

There was also a large gash on his forehead where blood was flowing out from.

A burly man exclaimed, “See?! I wasn’t lying! Your people pushed him onto the table and killed him! She’s trying to worm her way out of it now!”

Jean immediately retorted, “I’m not trying to worm my way out of anything! You’re spouting nonsense! It was clearly hi-”
