Melody fell into a deep sleep again after she was transferred to a regular ward. She looked pale, and she did not wake up for a long time.
The elderly Beatrice and Cedric felt even more distressed seeing Melody lying peacefully in the hospital bed.
"Our dear granddaughter-in-law has suffered so much. How did she end up in such a situation? She has always been diligent in her acting career. Why does it look like everything is out to get here?"
Beatrice genuinely cared for Melody and treated her like her own granddaughter. Witnessing the scene before was even more distressing for her, and she grew tearful.
Cedric hugged her, patted her shoulder gently, and wiped away her tears. "There, there. There's no need to be so sad. We're getting older, and our bodies can't handle too much."
Hearing that, Lucas also stood up to comfort Beatrice. "Grandma, you and Grandpa go home and rest. I'll stay here with Melody."
Beatrice and Cedric could not stay in the hospital for long since the place was not ideal for elderly people. Lucas always subconsciously avoided keeping the elderly couple in the hospital for too long.
The events of that day were truly unexpected, and Lucas would have been kept in the dark if not for Beatrice telling him about what happened.
Beatrice freed herself from her husband's arm, walked to the bedside, and took Melody's pale hands. She suppressed her sadness and turned to Lucas solemnly.
"Look, Melody's hands are still so cold. She was fine this morning. Who would've thought she'd end up like this? Lucas, do you really think this is just an accident?"
"Grandma, what do you mean?"

This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
