Anya said firmly, "This is the only logical explanation. I can find no other reason why Lucas would care so much about her! And don't you think Dad looks at Corinne differently now? Didn't you notice something unusual about his tone whenever he spoke to her?"
Phoebe felt a wave of fear when she recalled Maxwell's reaction upon laying eyes on Corinne. "If that's true, it's all the more reason to kill Corinne!"
A ruthless expression appeared briefly in Anya's eyes. "That's for sure, but we can't be the ones to do it."
"Then who's going to help us?"
"I've arranged for someone to deal with Corinne. Let's just wait and see what happens."
Phoebe glanced curiously at Anya. "Who is it?"
Anya said, "You'll find out if she succeeds."
Phoebe believed her daughter would not assign such an important task to an unreliable person. She did not ask any further and merely said, "Okay, Anya. Let's eat. Tell your adopted son to eat something too. He ignores me when I talk to him, and he refuses to eat even if I feed him. He's such a pain to take care of!"
Anya had a look of disgust. "Leave him be, then. I'll have one less thing to worry about if he starves to death!"
Back at the Riveras, Corinne told Cedric and Beatrice the reason she skipped classes in senior high. She explained to them that she had learned everything that was supposed to be taught in school. Her financial conditions forced her to earn money by working, even though she had classes to attend.

This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
