Chapter 116 Who Is Afraid Of Whom
Raylee bit her lip, taking several deep breaths and striving to keep her emotions in check.
She was the victim, so why should she be the one afraid? If anyone should be scared, it should be this demon!
She didn’t come to Lorimer Estate today to let him see her vulnerable side!

“Indeed, I’ve missed you, my dear fiance.” Raylee stood up to confidently face him, revealing a standard eight–toothed grin.
She forced herself to remain calm as she approached him, straightening out his disheveled collar.
Her smile seemed etched onto her face as she laughed, the sound as gentle as a flowing river.
“My fiancé is still as handsome as ever. These brows, these eyes – your facial features are like a masterpiece crafted by divine hands. God was indeed playing favorites!”
Jeremiah frowned, clearly taken aback by Raylee’s behavior
“She had voluntarily come here and, surprisingly, wasn’t at all afraid or angry
Instead, she was even nonchalantly acting along with him..
Jeremiah stared at her, his gaze deep and mysterious, as if he was trying to pierce through her eyes and reach directly into her soul.
A moment later.
He still couldn’t see any trace of fear on her face.
A profound sense of defeat permeated his entire being.
In the end, he didn’t utter a word. His expression stony, he grunted heavily, bypassing Raylee to take a seat on the couch.
Raylee’s breathing, once rapid, calmed in that instant.
On the surface, she appeared calm and composed, but in reality, she had already broken out in a cold sweat due to fear.
In the recent mental contest she had just experienced, fear was constantly threatening to leap from her chest, like an invisible net, trapping her to the point of near suffocation.
However, she had overcome it. Her robust mental strength had allowed her to triumph!
She was determined not to let this demon witness her vulnerability and helplessness:
“What’s the matter? Don’t like my praise, my dear fiancé?”
Raylee took a seat next to Jeremiah, continuing to speak in a sarcastic manner.
Jeremiah scoffed and replied, “Of course I like it. How could I not? You’re really lucky, you know. It’s a miracle you survived and returned. Who knows if you’ll be this fortunate in the future?”
“Of course, I am your fiancée, after all. If I were unlucky, how could I have met someone as wonderful as you, my Mr. Right?” Raylee sneered.
It was clear she had won the mental tug–of–war that had taken place earlier.
Jeremiah’s attitude had shifted dramatically, from his initial laid–back approach to now being almost on the verge of losing his composure.
This boosted her confidence significantly.
This man wasn’t as formidable as she had initially imagined!
“Mr. Right?” Jeremiah’s lips curled up in a mocking smile. “Raylee, aren’t you afraid of me?”

“Of course I am, but who’s truly afraid of whom? We can’t really tell yet, can we?” A hint of a mocking smile curled the corner of Raylee’s lips.
“What do you mean? Are you implying that I would be afraid of you?” Jeremiah seemed to have heard the joke of the century. “Raylee, have you lost your mind
Kaylee laughed without uttering a word. Her enigmatic demeanor was close to driving Jeremiah off the edge.
At that moment, Layla interjected from the side, “Jeremiah, after the inhumane things you’ve done to Ray–Ray, don’t you think you should quickly apologize to her and seek her forgiveness? If she were to break off the engagement with you, you’d be without a wife. Missing out on such a wonderful girl, you’d regret it for the rest of your life!”
Jeremiah’s dark eyes were fixated on Raylee as he said with an air of arrogance and disdain, “I’m sorry, Ray–Ray. Could you please not break off our engagement? I love you very much.”
