Chapter 18 Do Not Like Them Anymore
Alaric and Harriet’s expressions turned serious.
Casimir was Waverly’s fiance, yet he was insisting that Raylee attend his birthday party. Just how ridiculous was that?
As Alaric and Harriet looked toward Waverly, they saw that her eyes had instantly reddened, and she was on the verge of
tears.
The older couple simultaneously found themselves blaming Raylee in their hearts.
As an older sister, how could she compete with her younger sister for a man?
Nonetheless, they quickly lowered their voices to comfort Waverly
Samuel pulled Casimir aside, gripping his collar tightly as he reprimanded him, “Did you say that in front of Waverly just to make sure everyone knows you’re interested in Raylee?”
Casimir’s eyes were fixated on Samuel, his haughty demeanor seemingly towering over the latter.
“In an era of freedom in marriage, surely you’re not thinking of arranging it yourself? Let go of me! Don’t think just because you’re my good friend that I’ll put up with you indefinitely!”
“Casimir, please, man up! Juggling two women will eventually be your downfall!
“Then that’s my business. You shouldn’t interfere!”
Tension crackled between them like a lit fuse. It seemed a fight was imminent
Suddenly, the melodious voice of Lilith, the lead singer of Moonhaze Band, rang out from the stage.
“Next, I will perform my signature song. ‘Angel‘, for everyone.”
The lights dimmed, and as the explosive accompaniment kicked in, the atmosphere on site was heightened to its peak.
The tension between Samuel and Casimir dissipated in an instant.
Both of them were engrossed, their gaze fixed on the direction of the stage.
“Ray–Ray has been fond of Moonhaze Band since she was thirteen,” Samuel said with deep emotion.
“I know. I specifically flew overseas and spent a fortune to hire this band for her…”
Sighing deeply, Casimir’s eyes dimmed with melancholy.
“Why, why didn’t she come?”
Does she hate me that much?
His dark eyes were filled with a bitter sting, and as the song reached its crescendo, a stifling sensation of breathlessness intensified within his heart.
He picked up a glass of red wine from the table beside him and drained it in one gulp.
“You’re allergic to alcohol! Are you trying to kill yourself by drinking so much?” Samuel said, clearly annoyed.
A wave of nausea swept over Casimir, prompting him to hastily leave the scene.
Meanwhile, Waverly, who had been keeping a constant eye on Casimir’s situation, walked over and asked, “Samuel, what’s wrong with Caz? You all seemed ready to fight just now. What exactly happened? Could it be that Caz doesn’t like me…
As she spoke, tears glimmered on her curled eyelashes.

you. He had some alcohol and isn’t feeling well. He’ll be out after he rests a bit inside.”
“Then I’ll go check on him.”
Waverly knew that Casimir’s room was on the fourth floor of the mansion, and she immediately chased after him.
The first thing Casimir did was dash into his bathroom, not even having the time to shut the door behind him.
Waverly promptly followed him into his room.

She locked the door, a hint of interest flashing in her eyes.
Despite being Casimir’s betrothed, he seldom brought her back to the Sutherland residence.
The two of them hadn’t even spent time alone together.

She considered herself to be of above–average looks and figure and was confident that she was not incapable of attracting a
man.
Yet, every time she hinted at Casimir, he always managed to evade her, leaving her unsure whether he genuinely didn’t understand or was just pretending not to.
She suspected him of having another woman in his life, so she discreetly hired a private investigator to delve into Casimir’s personal affairs.
After a year or two of observation, it became clear that Casimir had devoted all his time to work.
Apart from a few female collaboration partners, there wasn’t even a female mosquito around him.
Casimir’s level of indifference and lack of desire was to such an extent that it was maddening
She refused to believe that a man in his twenties could remain chaste!
Next, Waverly shed her formal attire….
Barefoot, she moved with delicate steps, inching closer toward the bathroom…
At the same time, Casimir was having an allergic reaction to the alcohol. His body was covered in a fair amount of red rashes. and he was severely sick 10 his stomach,
After he had recovered a bit, he planned to take a shower to make himself feel better.
He usually avoided alcohol as he was allergic to it, barely touching a drop.
Hence, he didn’t even know what had come over him moments ago.
The thought of Raylee not even attending his birthday party, not even giving him a chance to mend their relationship, made his heart ache terribly.
This was exacerbated when Moonhaze Band’s songs began to play. Every note seemed to pierce his heart like shards of glass.
To say it hurt was simply an understatement.
Squeezing the bridge of his nose, Casimir turned and walked into the shower stall.
A woman, clad only in her underwear, appeared behind him as silently as a ghost.
He nearly had a heart attack at her sudden appearance.
“Waverly? Why are you in my room? What are you wearing?”
Unon recomizing the woman Casimir demanded “Don’t you think it’s quite nude to harve into my room like that?”

Without any regard, Waverly rushed forward, wrapping her arms around Casimir in a tight embrace.
“What are you doing? D’mn it!” Despite his best efforts, Casimir couldn’t help but curse out loud
