Casimir simply couldn’t get in touch with Raylee, so he canceled two important meetings that day just to wait for her at Jexburgh University.

After waiting around for what felt like forever, all he saw was her engaging in playful banter with another man.

Naturally, he got really angry.

After all, she had been missing for a full five months, and he had been searching for her tirelessly the whole time.

He had even lost count of the number of nights he had spent intoxicated.

He was consumed with a powerful desire to clarify things with her, to assure her that he had not intentionally conned her of her shares.

That was merely a show he put on for Alaric to stall for more time.

He was incredibly thrilled when he learned of her return yesterday.

This time, he was absolutely determined not to lose her again.

Casimir was heading toward Raylee, but was intercepted by the oncoming Waverly.

With a face full of surprise and delight, Waverly asked, “Casimir, did you come to pick me up from school? I’m so happy-”

“No.” Casimir replied vehemently, his denial a reflex born out of his frustration.

“Huh? Did you come here looking for Raylee, then?”

In an instant, Waverly’s heart sank.

As she spoke, Waverly couldn’t help but cover her mouth, tears welling up in her eyes.

Casimir had no idea when she would overcome her habit of bursting into tears at the drop of a hat.

At that moment, he became even more irritated, not wanting to utter a single word.

As he occasionally glanced toward Raylee, he saw that Raylee had shared some words with Halston. Though it was unclear what exactly she said, Halston seemed to be in high spirits when he walked away after their conversation.

The two of them appeared to be thoroughly enjoying their conversation.

This caused feelings of envy, jealousy, and resentment to peak in Casimir’s heart.

Suddenly, a plan began to form in his mind.

He wanted to test and see if Raylee still harbored any feelings for him.

While Waverly was still shedding tears, Casimir patiently said, “What I mean is, I actually came to clarify things with Raylee. Stop crying: I’ll take you to her right now and clear things up. There’s no chance of anything happening between me and her.”

Excited, Waverly looked up. “Really? Casimir, you’re not tricking me, are you?”

Casimir took time out of his busy schedule to pick me up. I told him he didn’t have to, but he insisted. Where do you live, Raylee? If it’s on our way, maybe Casimir could give you a ride home too.”
