Daohua saw Xiao Yeyang coming, and she was so excited she was nearly in tears.
Xiao Yeyang grabbed the bow and arrows from the Hidden Guard’s hand and with a ’whoosh’ sound, directly hit the python in its vital part. Then, with another arrow, he shot the python down the cliff.
After dealing with the python, Xiao Yeyang quickly approached the edge of the cliff and pulled Daohua up.
Suppressing her fear and the aftereffects of her fight with the python, Daohua’s hands and feet were weak as she leaned motionless against Xiao Yeyang’s chest, her heart still racing.
Xiao Yeyang gave Daohua a quick once-over; seeing no apparent injuries, he felt relieved and then couldn’t help but scold her, "What am I supposed to say to you, coming out here, why didn’t you call for me, running over by yourself? Don’t you know there are dangers all over the deep forest?"
Daohua replied in a muffled voice, "I thought you would follow me."
Xiao Yeyang was helpless, feeling it was his fault somehow. He wanted to say more, but sensing Daohua’s trembling body, he swallowed his words and instead soothed her, "Alright, alright, my mistake, next time I will definitely follow you. It’s all good now!" Saying so, he hugged Daohua tightly, indicating to her there was no need to be afraid any longer.
Daohua pursed her lips in silence, and it took a while before the fear in her heart slowly faded. She pointed toward the cliff, "You should have someone dig out the Polygonum multiflorum."
Upon hearing this, Xiao Yeyang understood why Daohua had come here and glanced back at the Hidden Guard.
The Hidden Guard, catching the signal, immediately took his men to dig up the Polygonum multiflorum.
A quarter of an hour later, Daohua’s mood had completely stabilized. Seeing that the Hidden Guard had still not finished digging, she signaled Xiao Yeyang to help her up; she wanted to go over and see.
However, the moment she stood up, Daohua couldn’t help but cry out in pain.
Seeing Daohua turn pale with pain, Xiao Yeyang got a shock, "What’s wrong?"
Daohua pointed to her right foot, "I think I sprained it."
Xiao Yeyang had Wang Manman and Bi Shi support Daohua, and he himself squatted down to check the injury on her foot. As soon as he touched her foot, Daohua cried out, "Don’t move, it’s so painful, I must have sprained it while avoiding the python’s attack."
Xiao Yeyang looked around and thought for a moment before standing up, carrying Daohua in his arms, then quickly instructed Defu, "We passed a valley just now, we’ll camp there for the night."
Having said that, he carried Daohua to the stream at the entrance of the valley.
Arriving at the stream, Xiao Yeyang gently put Daohua down, then crouched down to take off her shoes and socks.
As the shoes and socks were removed, Daohua’s ankle was revealed, red and swollen. Against the backdrop of her fair and delicate skin, it looked extraordinarily jarring.
Seeing this, Daohua frowned, "It seems to be dislocated." Then, looking at Xiao Yeyang, she asked, "Do you know how to set a bone?"
Xiao Yeyang ’hmm’ed in affirmation, and after a gentle examination of Daohua’s ankle, confirmed it was dislocated and said to her, "It’ll be a bit painful; you’ll have to endure it."
Daohua nodded her head.
Xiao Yeyang placed Daohua’s foot on his leg, one hand gripping her ankle, the other holding her foot. When his palm touched the sole of her foot, Daohua couldn’t help but hum.
Xiao Yeyang quickly asked, "What’s wrong?"
