Chapter 180
As the centipede stayed under the water, Gilbert tied to the pillar began to struggle. His face flushed red as if he couldn’t
breathe at all.
His
became wide eyes
open,
and his face distorted as if he were underwater as Simba was.
“If I kill the centipede, Gilbert may die or get severely wounded,” Eliza analyzed and inclined to the latter possibility.
Gilbert wouldn’t have separated from the centipede if his life was put at risk. However, its death would have a bad effect on him, and that explained why he attached great importance to it.
After the analysis, Eliza poured all the water out of the wooden bucket, and the centipede got exposed. The moment the centipede was spared, Gilbert was relieved from the struggle.
However, Gilbert looked sick, and his face was pale. Thanks to the torment, Gilbert completely sombered up.
Gritting his teeth, he glared at Eliza. “The saying of Bortenland is true. Women are evil.”
Eliza stared at Gilbert and opened her mouth, “I dare you to repeat that.”
Obedient, Gilbert cursed, “Hell with you, you evil woman!”
Eliza quickly adjusted the wooden bucket and added one ladle of water to it. “You!” Gilbert cursed again after he recovered from the shock.
Unfortunately, he soon felt breathless as if he had drowned. Simba was still at the bottom of the wooden bucket.
“No…” Tied, Gilbert struggled like mad. However, he couldn’t break free no matter how hard he tried. He had been tied by Tina tightly and skillfully.
Before Gilbert fainted, Eliza slowly poured away all the water in the bucket.
After a series of coughs, Gilbert gasped for air and came to life again.
His eyes were bloodshot as he glared at Eliza. Sobbing, he cursed, “You vixen, you pride yourself as the kind Holy Lady, but you torture a centipede. Won’t your conscience stir?”
Eliza raised her hand and shook it. “It seems you have a deep misunderstanding of me. Now, let me make myself clear.
“First of all, I am indeed Holy Lady of Bortenland, but never have I prided myself as a kind person. It is your, well, master, Sophie, who does.”
Eliza didn’t have a clear idea of the relationship between Gilbert and Sophie, so she chose the word, master.
Hearing this, Gilbert rolled his eyes at Eliza. “Who says she is my master? She is not qualified.”
Well, it sounded like the relationship between Gilbert and Sophie wasn’t as close as Eliza had imagined.
However, Gilbert had risked his life for Sophie. Why did he disdain her now? Eliza kept all her questions to herself and didn’t get to the bottom of it.
She said, “I don’t care if she is your master or not, and I will call her whatever I want.”
Eliza shot one cold glance at Gilbert and continued, “Your master, Sophie, is kind, innocent…”
“Pfft!” Once again, Gilbert interrupted Eliza, “Sophie? Innocent and kind? What a joke!” Gilbert threw back his head and roared with laughter.
Laughing, he cursed, “She’s a liar! She fooled all of us. Together with her damn mother, she made us laughingstocks.” In the end, he lashed out at Sophie.
Eliza looked at Gilbert and patiently waited. She didn’t open her mouth till Gilbert stopped cursing. “Mark my word. I will torture your centipede if a third interruption happens.”

Eliza pointed a finger at the wooden bucket. Instantly, Gilbert became cooperative. “Okay, okay, go ahead.”
“After your master, let’s talk about your centipede,” Eliza said blandly as if she lost interest in her conversation with Gilbert. “You poisoned me with this centipede. Because of it, I lost a lot of blood.”
She thought, “It even drank the magical water in the pocket farm. It should feel grateful for the light punishment.”
