The Lady Nun Seeks Justice (Eliza Stonor) novel Chapter 391

91.Chapter 391

Eliza hated it when others threatened her so brazenly. She flung the annulment papers at Matthew and sneered, “Whatever, but I suggest you sign now before I change my mind out of sheer disgust for you and Sophie.”

She smiled faintly, but the expression was cold and devoid of any warmth.

“Here” Before he could finish, the Black Flag captain behind Eliza stepped forward and handed him a pen with practiced efficiency, cutting off his excuse.

Matthew gritted his teeth in frustration. Snatching the pen from the captain’s hand, he glared at him fiercely. “A pen without ink? How am I supposed to write with it?”

She bit her lower lip lightly, then suddenly lunged toward the blade of one of the Black Flag soldiers. But not before crying out dramatically. “Matthew, don’t hesitate. It’s all my fault, and I’ll kill myself now so you won’t have to be burdened by me

anymore.”

“No! Sophie, don’t do anything foolish.” Matthew immediately reached out to stop her. Clutching the pen tightly in his hand, he closed his eyes. “If I have to choose, then it’s you. I won’t hesitate anymore”

With that, he let go of Sophie and, with trembling hands, signed his name on the annulment papers.
