Caleb frowned deeply. “Doctor, please think of another solution.”

Caleb’s heart clenched. “No, of course not. I’m not angry. I’m just worried about you, Sophie. The doctor said only snow cream can heal your face, but it’s so rare to find.”

She thought, ‘Snow cream can heal me? Then go find it for me!‘

A fleeting sharpness flashed in Sophie’s gaze, though her face remained sorrowful. Her tear–filled eyes seemed full of affection and understanding as she murmured, “It’s okay, Caleb. I don’t want to trouble you. If you can’t find it, I’ll just have to live with the scars forever. But like this… I’ll never be worthy of you. Maybe I should leave.”

Caleb, who had been waiting for her to open up, wasn’t about to let her go so easily. “Don’t go, Sophie!”
