539.Chapter 539
“Dead men don’t need to know too much” Eliza’s reply was cold and curt
With a wave of her hand, all the spiders and ants in the canyon rushed toward Kornest
Korneel let out a chuckle. “I admit, you are quite interesting. But to think you can kill me this early–imponatla
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a dark green insect.
Holding the insect in his palm, he arrogantly lifted his chin, his voice cold. “Whether it’s controlling parasites or inserts, i will never lose to anyone.”
As soon as his words fell, the insect–his King Parasite–let out a high pitched shriek
The shriek echoed throughout the canyon.
Eliza sensed something and immediately focused on her own swarm of poisonous insects.
To her surprise, the insect in Korneel’s hand was so powerful that it affected her own swarm. Her insects, cuffanted with her own blood and the magical water, should have been immune to outside influence.
But Korneel’s parasite seemed to possess the same overwhelming power as a king insect over ordinary ones.
This must be one of the five King Parasites that Gilbert mentioned, Eliza thought, narrowing her eyes slightly it seemed that she needed to cultivate her own king insect soon.
With this in mind, Eliza withdrew the affected insects and left only the least affected ones. She then focused, poing a forced command to override the influence of Korneel’s King Parasite, sending her insects charging back at him.
Korneel, however, was caught off guard. Despite using the King Parasite’s overwhelming power, it only managed to subdue half of Eliza’s swarm. The rest remained unaffected.
His face darkened. Clearly, things weren’t going as planned. He no longer held back and pulled out an emerald fute Bringing the flute to his lips, he began playing an eerie melody.
As the haunting notes filled the air, countless more insects poured out from behind him.
Unlike Eliza’s swarm, Korneel’s insects were a chaotic mix of all kinds.
By the time he called them all forth, their numbers matched the half of Eliza’s swarm that remained. One side was filled with poisonous insects, the other with parasites.
The entire canyon had been surrounded by swarms.
Luke suddenly realized why Eliza had chosen this location for the battlefield.
Clearly, she had planned this to ensure there would be no escape once their big moves were made.
Luke glanced around the battlefield and then at the bodies on the ground. Indeed, there was no place to escape.
Korneel grinned. “How about you tell me now, who exactly are you?”
Eliza gave him only three words in reply: “No more talk.”
Undeterred, Korneel pressed on, “Come on, it’s just the two of us now, no one else to interfere. It’s not a bad time for a little chat, is it? If we have a pleasant conversation, I might even let you go.”
Eliza snorted coldly. This whole line of questioning was just to confirm if she was Diana.
If she was, there would be no chance of them letting her go.
If she wasn’t, they still wouldn’t release them, but maybe Korneel would choose to capture them alive.
But unfortunately for Korneel, Eliza didn’t need to choose.
Eliza said softly, “You seem very confident in your King Parasite and your parasites.”
You think you’ve already won without even starting.
“Of course.” Korneel admitted without hesitation. “My parasitic arts are unbeatable. No matter what tricks you’ve used to slip past my King Parasite, this ends here. If you surrender now, I won’t harm you. What do you say?”
In response to Korneel’s offer, Eliza just smiled faintly, her eyes filled with disdain.
