The Lady Nun Seeks Justice (Eliza Stonor) novel Chapter 548

548.Chapter 548

“Such heavy snow… this is buried too thickly,” Eliza remarked, frowning.

The Black Flag soldiers, who had approached to investigate, thrust their long spears into the snow, only for them to sink halfway.

“The snow here is so deep, it might even reach our waists. Riding a horse might still be possible, but the supply wagons and the heavy loads won’t make it through,” one of the soldiers reported gravely.

After inspecting the situation, the Black Flag soldiers returned to report to Nolan, “People can pass, but the supply wagons can’t.”

Nolan glanced at the road ahead and, realizing the situation, came up with a plan.

“Order the rear guard to catch up. The supply wagons will stop a mile away, and 500 soldiers will guard them. The rest will split into two groups, alternating. We must clear the snow on this road enough for the wagons to pass by tomorrow at sunrise,” Nolan commanded.

“Yes, sir.”

Thankfully, Nolan had brought a large number of soldiers with him.

With a full army of 10,000 Black Flag soldiers, clearing this stretch of road in one night was far from impossible.

However, despite the numbers, neither Eliza nor Nolan looked relaxed.

Especially Nolan. After giving his orders, he immediately stepped forward, ready to shovel the snow himself.

When Nolan took the lead, the rest of the Black Flag soldiers immediately followed suit without hesitation.

They trusted him completely, for he was the battle king who led them to victory in every fight and conquered every disaster they faced.

Eliza, moved by their resolve, gently touched her chest.

It was clear to her now that she couldn’t just stand by; she had to contribute in some way.

Even though Nolan had told her not to join the snow–shoveling, Eliza knew she had her own methods.

After all, her pocket farm wasn’t just for storing people.

Pretending to return to the carriage, Eliza quickly slipped behind it. As Nolan and the others focused on clearing the snow, she quietly jumped into the snow by the roadside, avoiding the soldiers‘ gaze.

The snow reached Nolan and the others‘ waists, but for Eliza, it was up to her chest.

All she had to do was squat down, and no one could see her hidden in the snow.

Hidden beneath the snow, Eliza used the power of her pocket farm to quickly carve out a path underneath. This path bypassed Nolan and the Black Flag soldiers clearing the snow and extended 300 feet ahead to the main road.

Once she was sure it was clear, Eliza began swiftly packing the snow from the road into her pocket farm.

Within moments, she had cleared a wide, empty road behind her.

When Nolan and the Black Flag soldiers reached the end of the 300 feet of snow they had cleared, they found a hollow

spot.

Noticing something was off, Nolan cleared the remaining snow and uncovered a clean stretch of road, with only melted snowwater flowing on the ground.

“What is this?” Nolan asked.

“Where did the snow go?”

“No way. Did the snow decide to skip this part of the road? Was the weather in Woteria that selective?”

Hearing the soldiers‘ chatter behind him, Nolan furrowed his brow and said, “This stretch has no cover, so it shouldn’t be clear of snow. Based on the tracks on the ground, someone else must have been doing the same thing we were.”

The tracks on the ground, clearly human, were unmistakable.

But what was strange was that there wasn’t just one set of footprints–by the size, they seemed to belong to a woman.

Nolan studied the footprints for a moment befc
