554 Chapter 554
554.Chapter 554
At the highest tower in Saint Snow City, an elegant and imposing woman, Sariyah, stood by the crimson ral, gazing towards the county office. The whispers of her subordinates who had just returned from gathering intelligence about the courty office filled the air.
“No wonder Prince Regent came in person to lead the relief effort, Sariyah murmured, “Turns out, he’s escorting such a large treasure.”
A man replied, “Madam, Mr. Malone has been deposed, and the county office is now occupied by the Black Flag Army led by Prince Regent. It won’t be long before they begin to investigate the entire city. If we stay here, those things will be discovered by Prince Regent soon enough.”
Behind Sariyah, a middle–aged man, whose face had a faintly delicate quality, took a step forward.
He supported Sariyah as he spoke, “Prince Regent and his team arrived quite suddenly. I don’t know why we didn’t get any news from Fletcher. Right now, we should hide those things, then retreat to Centrina City. Once the relief effort is over and Prince Regent is gone, we can take the next step.”
Louisa, standing beside them, also agreed, “Retreat is necessary, but the fool in prison needs to be silenced, Give Pafe a signal, hasn’t he already infiltrated? Let him take action.”
The middle–aged man hesitated, then said, “Mr. Malone is Rafe’s biological father. Will he be willing to act against him?” Louisa scoffed coldly, “Rafe is a bastard, an unworthy son. He was born out of a drunken affair that ruined another woman s life. If it weren’t for me, Rafe would have died in the snow right after birth. Now that child harbors nothing but hatred for his father, there’s no father–son bond left.”
The middle–aged man immediately understood, “Yes, I understand. I’ll notify Rafe right away.”
Just as he was about to leave, Louisa stopped him, “Wait.”
He immediately halted and respectfully asked, “What else do you need, Madam?”
Louisa waved him forward, lowering her voice to whisper something in his ear.
The middle–aged man immediately nodded, “Understood. I will arrange everything properly.”
But the snow only made the single spot of red–the flame–like robes of Eliza–appear even more intense and burning against the white world around her.
