The Lady Nun Seeks Justice (Eliza Stonor) novel Chapter 586

Under Vexara’s command, the poisonous bugs worked in perfect coordination: venomous centipedes and scorpions cleared paths, while the fire ants swarmed ahead to search.

It didn’t take long before the first person was found.

The Black Flag soldiers behind Nolan stepped forward and dug him out.

“Lucky break,” Nolan remarked casually.

The first person they uncovered turned out to be the scout Nolan had sent earlier.

“I’ve got medicine,” Eliza said. “Take him to the back, give him medicine, change his clothes, and get him something warm to eat. He should recover quickly.”

“Got it.” Two Black Flag soldiers immediately sprang into action.

Soon, the second, third, and fourth individuals were found one after another.

Eliza could sense the steady stream of signals from her poisonous bugs, each one marking another person located. But the freezing temperatures were starting to take a toll on her little helpers.

For creatures like centipedes, scorpions, and fire ants, this icy environment was far from ideal.

The cold weakened their movements, and if exposed for too long, it could even threaten their survival.

Eliza instructed Vexara to recall the first batch of struggling poisonous bugs and place them in the magical water stream within her pocket farm to recover. Meanwhile, the remaining poisonous bugs continued their search.

By the time Eliza recalled batch after batch of poisonous bugs, the avalanche zone had been almost completely searched.

But both Eliza and Nolan could sense something was off.

“Missing some people.”

And not just a few–there were a lot of them.

The only ones unearthed were Nolan’s scouts and the governor’s officials. But Jefferson’s trusted aides, the Malone family‘ s guards, and Rayden–over thirty people–had all vanished without a trace.

Even the Immortality Pills and the evidence that had been moved were gone like they’d vanished into thin air.

Nolan said, “The surrounding area shows no signs.”

Nolan and several Black Flag soldiers split up to search the vicinity of the avalanche site but still came up empty–handed.

The whole situation was unnervingly strange.
