606.Chapter 606
“What should we do with Malone City?” Eliza asked.
With most of the Malone family wiped out, what remained was a pile of corpses and the small city. Leaving it would only
cause trouble.
“Simple. Burn it to the ground,” Nolan said without hesitation.
“Burn it all?” Eliza was surprised, then realized it was probably the best option. Leaving the city would only be a hidden threat.
Suddenly, she remembered something and said, “Wait, the Immortality Pills are still in the city.”
There were mountains of them, already bottled and packed into boxes, clearly ready for delivery.
And it was likely that one of the destinations on that delivery list was Hasen City.
“Burn those too,” Nolan said firmly. “Each one of those pills represents blood and lives. I won’t let them leave this place.”
But there were loose ends to tie up. The truth had to come to light.
“Jefferson and the other key figures of the Malone family are still alive. We’ll break their mouths open if we have to and get the answers we’re looking for.” Nolan’s icy gaze swept over Sariyah and the others before he ordered, “Take them all away.”
Eliza asked, “How are things over in Centrina City?”
With the Malone family business wrapped up, Eliza turned her attention to Centrina City.
Her poisonous bugs had warned her earlier when they left the city that someone had headed there, one of them being a powerful sorcerer with a King Parasite.
If Tina hadn’t arrived, Eliza and Nolan wouldn’t feel at ease about the situation in Centrina City at all.
When Eliza was pondering over it, Tina stepped forward from behind and held out a black–cloth–covered object the size of a palm. “Take a look.”
“What’s this…?” Eliza asked, her curiosity piqued, wondering if it could be what she thought it was.
She quickly lifted the cloth. Underneath was a small iron cage, and inside it was an enormous locust.
“Is this the King Parasite that the sorcerer was using?” Eliza asked, her voice a mix of surprise and excitement.
Tina nodded. “It looks like this King Parasite’s powers were suppressed, making it less powerful than the last one. It couldn‘ t control many parasites, so the poisonous bugs you left behind were more than enough to deal with the situation. After I subdued the sorcerer and their group, the King Parasite lost its power, and I captured it.”
“Suppressed…” Eliza raised an eyebrow, realization dawning. “They probably brought this parasite from somewhere else, or maybe even stole it. Parasites aren’t suited to living in such cold environments. On top of that, it doesn’t have its own swarm to command and can only control other groups, which significantly weakens its power.”
But Vexara didn’t seem to care about what kind of swarm it commanded.‘ Eliza suddenly thought of this after speaking.
Whether it was acting as the King Parasite when it was with Korneel or now with her, once Vexara tamed an insect swarm- killer bees included–they would completely submit to it.
Not only was its control absolute, but there was no backlash at all.
Thinking back, Eliza had always felt something odd about Vexara, but she hadn’t given it much thought after it emerged from its cocoon as a butterfly.
Only now did she realize that its previous form didn’t resemble any type of insect she knew or had even heard of.
Eliza asked, “So, what kind of insect were you?”
“I don’t know,” Vexara replied.
