608.Chapter 608

She looked at Nolan in confusion, only to see him stunned for a moment too. But then realization dawned on his face, and he looked visibly conflicted. “Serenity, stop guessing. He’s calling you.“*

Eliza stood there, stunned into silence. Then, snapping out of it. She quickly turned to look at Rafe, who was tied up in the cell. Her tone was serious and wary as she said, “Don’t spout nonsense! I’m not your sister!”

But Rafe just beamed and said, “I’m not making it up. You’re my biological sister. Vere really siblings and related by blood.”

“Related by blood? What kind of blood relation are we talking about?” Eliza frowned slightly.

Rafe grinned cheekily and said, “Same father, different mothers. My dear sister.”

Eliza’s face instantly darkened. ‘Same… father, different mothers?‘

She stepped into the secret chamber where Rafe was being held. After ordering the guards to light every lantern in the room, she silently stared at Rafe’s face in silence.

“Are you trying to get a good look at me? Well, I’ve always been filthy, hiding under all this grime. You probably can’t see clearly. Why not bring me some water? I’ll wash up and let you take a proper look at your charming brother,” Rafe teased, his tone light and flippant.

Even as a prisoner, he seemed completely unbothered by his situation.

“Bring some water over,” Eliza said through gritted teeth, anger rising as she looked at that dirty but vaguely familiar face.

“Eliza, my hands are still tied, you know. It’s been like this for days! Why not have someone untie me? Otherwise, how am I supposed to wash my face?” Rafe said with a playful smirk.

Before Eliza could speak, Nolan’s cold voice came from behind her. “Scrub his face clean. I don’t want a speck of dirt left.”

The Black Flag soldiers immediately stepped forward. Using the cold water that had been brought in, they roughly scrubbed Rafe’s face until every trace of dirt was gone.

They didn’t hold back, leaving Rafe’s entire face turned red from the scrubbing.

“Eliza, my face hurts!” he complained, looking utterly pitiful.

As Eliza stared at his face, which bore a striking resemblance to Gabriel’s, she felt a whirlwind of emotions she couldn’t quite put into words.
