Antonio froze on the spot. 

Gina sauntered over, a smug grin on her face. “If you really want to 

stick around, maybe grovel at Antonio’s feet, say you’re sorry, and hope he’ll take you back. 

“Come on. We’re not kids anymore. Playing the victim? That’s just sad.” 

I curled my lip, too tired to argue with them. 

I’d come to gather my brother’s things, not to tangle with these idiots. 

Seeing I wasn’t biting, Antonio snorted, “Try whatever you want, but you’re out of here today!”

Without another word, he dialed his assistant. 

“From now on, Grace and her brother are banned from my property. especially her sightless brother.” 

There was a beat of silence, and then the assistant’s voice came through. “Mr. Kaufman, Andy Sloan had an accident. He fell off the building and didn’t make it.” 

“What? That’s insane.” Antonio gripped his phone, his voice rising in shock. 

“Did Grace twist your arm to say this? Lie for her again, and you’re out on your car. 

He swung back to me, eyes narrowed. 

“Grace, I didn’t realize you were so sly. You’ve really got my assistant under your control.” 

I couldn’t help but find him laughable, a real joker in the worst way. 

Being the company boss, he was dumb and arrogant. 

Antonio shot me with a mocking smile. “My assistant backing you up doesn’t mean squat. Just you wait. The moment I bust your lies wide open, we’ll see if you’ve got the nerve to stick around.” 

He dialed the maid he’d paid to keep an eye on my brother, hoping for a different story.
