The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 247

I anxiously flipped the steak in the pan, hoping that Abigail would step away from me.

However, she watched me intently, showing no intention of leaving.

Forcing a smile, I looked at her and tried to gently persuade her, "Why don't you wait outside? The smoke and grease might leave a smell on your clothes."

Hearing my response, she just chuckled lightly. With a calm expression, she said solemnly, "It's fine. I can stay here with you the whole time. You're willing to endure all this smoke just to cook for me. I can do the same."

Her words filled me with helplessness. Once she had decided on something, there was no talking her out of it.

After I was done cooking the steaks, I carried the dish out and joined Abigail at the dining table. Just as I was about to start eating, she picked up a piece of the steak and held it out by my mouth.

Her gaze was gentle, and a faint smile graced her lips as she said softly, "Here, let me feed you."

I hesitated for a moment before eating the piece of steak she offered. Awkwardly, I smiled and said, "Why don't you try some yourself?"

She showed no intention of eating on her own. Instead, she opened her mouth, and with a playful smile, said, "I want you to feed me."

Her tone was so affectionate, almost teasing, that I felt disoriented.

For a brief moment, I was transported back to the past, to a time when we were still in love.

However, in the present, I felt none of those feelings. Looking at her, I replied softly, "Why don't you eat it yourself? I'm not used to doing this."

"Oh?" She looked at me, raised her eyebrow, and suddenly started smiling.
