The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 342

Abigail lingered at the door, hesitating before knocking again.

When Sophia noticed that, she was instantly infuriated.

She pointed angrily at Abigail and shouted, "Abigail, do you have a problem understanding such simple words? Samuel said that he wants to be alone and doesn't want to see anyone. Why are you still here bothering him? Don't you want him to get better?"

Abigail was left speechless by the scolding and could only leave the ward hesitantly.

Just then, I received a text from Sophia.

She had apologized, saying, "I'm sorry, Samuel. I didn't mean to disturb you. I was just worried about you. If you don't want me to stay here, I'll leave. But don't worry. If you ever need me, you can call me anytime, and I'll be there for you right away, okay?"

Reading Sophia's message filled my heart with warmth.

Her attitude toward me had always been kind. Sometimes, I even felt that I was indebted to her, as her care and concern for me had long gone beyond the boundaries of mere friendship.

After turning off my phone, I sat alone in the bathroom for a long time. I seemed to have dozed off because I only realized that I had fallen asleep when I woke up in a daze.

When I finally opened the door and stepped outside, I discovered that Abigail hadn't left at all.

She was standing at the door, scrolling on her phone while waiting for me to come out.

The moment I saw her, a dreadful chill coursed through my entire body.

I felt so uneasy that I could barely find the words to speak. My back felt icy cold, and all I wanted to do was run away from this place and escape her grasp.

Instinctively, I turned around, ready to go back inside the bathroom to hide.
