What they didn’t know was, the world was like this. No one is bad. Just because that person is a villain in your life doesn’t mean he is a villain in reality...
But does that matter?
Gu Jin shook her head. It doesn’t actually. If they had let go of the black-cloaked man, he would have tried to attack them again.
They didn’t have the luxury to choose between letting go or killing. That was what the law of the jungle was like.
After breakfast, everyone returned to their room.
Gu Jin didn’t waste her time and entered her space from morning till afternoon she remained in the space.
Then she changed her disguise and exited the space.
After roaming around for a while she found the lean man in the living room.
His entire aura was filled with gloom and his eyes seemed to have lost its luster.
Gu Jin quickly exited the lodge and after going through various shops, she bought some clothes, changed into them, and returned to the lodge.
She made her way to where the lean man was and coughed in a slight manly voice.
The lean man lifted his head with a blank expression, but when he saw a police officer in front of him, he was instantly agitated.
"Officer?" The lean man asked in an uncertain tone.
Gu Jin nodded her head and said,
"Your brother he was a very good person. He participated in the Ebon Shadow Elimination operation with us. Unfortunately, he died.
The government has given you some compensation and your brother had asked us to tell you something in case, he doesn’t return."
The lean man’s eyes moistened but his rationality was still there, so he asked with suspicion in his tone,
"Why would the government give me compensation?"
Each year many police officers die. But no compensation is provided to their family.
There was a reason for it though. Around 30 police officers die every single day. If the government starts to give compensation to each family, they would mostly go bankrupt in 4 years!
So how come the government gave him the compensation when his brother wasn’t even an official police officer?
Gu Jin paused before shaking her head,
"Just like your brother, you are smart too. Well, this isn’t the compensation, it is a reward. The operation which we conducted had many dangers, hence we offered a reward to whoever applied for it.
