Chapter 78: Chapter 78: Attackers.

Gu Jin suppressed the rising restlessness in her heart, and asked in a casual tone,

"If you want something say it directly. Why do you need to beat me? If you had told me from the start that you wanted something, I would have already given you a price."

The attackers looked at each other and the weak man said,

"You see...that is the problem. Originally our young master wanted to buy the fire mystic seed but you bid for it, making the master feel disgusted so now the young master doesn’t want to pay a penny to you."

"You want the fire mystic seed, for free?" Gu Jin asked with a raised eyebrow.

Gu Jin’s eyes darted around the room, searching for the thing she smelled earlier and that was when she saw it - a large bottle.

"So, your master’s pride was wounded because I dared to outbid him in an auction?"

The sleek-eyed man chuckled darkly.

"It’s not just about pride, little girl. Our master doesn’t take kindly to anyone who defies him. And as for us, well, we have our own reasons for wanting you out of the picture."

Gu Jin rolled her eyes but continued with her side job.

Without missing a beat, she reached out with her plant vines, silently maneuvering them toward the bottle.

The weak man’s voice interrupted her thoughts, his tone laced with malice.

"You see, it’s quite dangerous for us to let you live. Who knows what you might do? Report us to the authorities? Tell others about our master’s failed bid for the mystic seed?"

With a quick flick of her wrist, Gu Jin hurled the bottle toward her attackers, the liquid inside splashing across their faces and clothes.

"Dodge!" The weak man said.

However when they felt a water-like liquid on their body, the 2 men couldn’t help but laugh,

"Hey! Chong’er I thought she was throwing some poison with the way you reacted. It’s just water!"

"Yeah! Chong, how could you be such a scared cat?"

The weak man frowned, he kept on feeling that something wasn’t right.

The sleek-eyed man’s laughter faltered as he wiped the liquid from his eyes, his expression shifting from amusement to confusion.

"What is this? Some childish trick?"

But before he could finish his sentence, Gu Jin smirked and spoke a single word.

"Fire Blast."

With a flick of her wrist, Gu Jin summoned her own fire magic, igniting the kerosene-soaked clothing of her attackers.

"I heard kerosene can magnify the fire, once used properly. What a great combination." Gu Jin sighed.

With her weak fire, Gu Jin was sure that she could never defeat the mages.

But when she combined the knowledge of her previous world with the magic world, Gu Jin realized that things were much easier for her.
