The room fell into a hushed silence as the old lady began to cultivate, her movements fluid and graceful.
The young man and the maid watched in awe as a faint aura began to emanate from her, enveloping her in a soft glow.
The young man’s anxiety grew with each passing moment, his worry for his grandmother’s safety escalating.
He glanced nervously at the maid, who remained composed, her confidence unwavering.
With gritted teeth, he said to the maid,
"Just you wait! Once those pills prove to be unhealthy I would kill you and the person who made this pill."
The maid ignored the young man and kept on looking at the old lady.
The young man was even more angry,
"Hey, you! I am talking to you!"
The maid still didn’t look at the young man.
"You clearly want to harm my grandmother and hence you gave her the tranquility pill! And that is too of such low quality!
Apprentice level? How could the pills that are at the Apprentice level be good? Even if you want to pretend to be nice, at least give her some high-quality pills just god knows from which gutter you have picked those pills!..."
Suddenly, the old lady opened her eyes, and a serene smile graced her lips.
She looked at her grandson with eyes filled with calmness.
"It worked," she said softly, her voice carrying a sense of peace that hadn’t been there before.
The young man’s eyes widened in astonishment.
"Grandma... you’re okay?"
The old lady nodded, her smile widening.
"More than okay. I feel... rejuvenated as if a burden has been lifted from my shoulders. These tranquility pills even though are at a low level, have a unique kind of energy."
Relief flooded through the young man as he realized that the pill had indeed brought positive effects on his grandmother.
Suddenly he thought of something and became alert,
"Grandma, what did you say?"
"I feel that..."
"No! No! Not what you felt! What unique energy?" The young man asked.
He was starting to wonder whether the pill have some side effects.
The old lady paused, considering her grandson’s question carefully.
She took a moment to gather her thoughts before responding.
"It’s hard to describe," she began, her voice thoughtful.
"But as I cultivated, I could sense a subtle energy within the pill, different from anything I’ve experienced before.
It’s as if the pill contains a power that resonates with my own energy, harmonizing with it and amplifying its effects."
The young man’s brows furrowed in concern as he processed his grandmother’s words
"But... is it safe, Grandma?" he asked, his tone tinged with worry.
"I mean, this ’unique energy’... could it have any adverse effects?"
The old lady considered her grandson’s question, her expression thoughtful.
"I can’t say for certain," she admitted.
"But I feel no ill effects from taking the pill. If anything, I feel more balanced and at peace than I have in a long time."
The young man was still about to say something when the old lady showed her hand to him and turned toward the maid,
"Quinn thank you. Even though it would have helped me more if the pills were of higher quality, nonetheless the calm that I am feeling can’t even be achieved by the high-quality pills I have taken so far.
If possible keep an eye on the alchemist, once he advances to Yellow Rank pills I am sure that these tranquility pills will be 2 times more effective.
Could I know from where you bought it?"
Quinn smiled and said,
"I was looking around in the market when I came across a small, unassuming shop tucked away in a corner," Quinn explained.
"The shopkeeper was distributing samples...."
"Oh my god! Did you just hand my grandmother some shady shop’s sample pills? Grandma let’s go to the hospital, right away!
I am scared! What if those pills may be giving good results now but will have adverse effects later on? We can’t take that risk!" The young man exclaimed, panic evident in his voice.
The old lady held up a hand, a calm expression on her face despite her grandson’s concerns.
"Wait, listen to me," she said firmly.
"Quinn has been with us for many years, and I trust her judgment. If she believes these pills are safe and beneficial, then I am inclined to believe her."
The young man’s eyes widened in disbelief.
"But Grandma, you don’t know where those pills came from! They could be dangerous!"
Quinn stepped forward, her demeanor composed and assured.
"I assure you, madam, the shopkeeper seemed genuine and trustworthy. He even had a PSA mark as well as certificates proving his rank!"
The young man’s panic began to subside slightly as he looked at Quinn’s unwavering confidence.
