"Sir! He’s still breathing!" the trusted subordinate exclaimed in shock.
He had intended to separate the Heavenly Wolf from this small corpse, but as soon as his hand touched Gu Jiao’s face, he sensed something was amiss and checked for her breath.
Though faint, the breath was unquestionably there!
"Sir, the King of Wing has awakened and has sent me to inquire what has happened here," said the guard by the King of Wing’s side.
The silver-haired man gazed thoughtfully at the unconscious Gu Jiao. "The Heavenly Wolf is dead, and we’ve just caught the murderer."
The silver-haired man returned to the carriage.
Also brought onto the carriage with him was a soldier clad in armor, unconscious.
The King of Wing, clutching the wound on his shoulder in pain, frowned and asked, "Who is he?"
"The one who killed the Heavenly Wolf."
The King of Wing scrutinized Gu Jiao’s figure and her undistinguished armor, saying in disbelief, "What? Him? A mere foot soldier?"
"A soldier from Zhan Country," the silver-haired man said.
Having just suffered a defeat, the King of Wing’s expression darkened at the mention of Zhan Country, and he said in a deep voice, "The Gu Family army?"
The silver-haired man carelessly threw Gu Jiao onto the carriage’s carpet and nudged her foot away with his: "Judging by the armor, it doesn’t seem like it."
The Gu Family army wore silver armor, while this boy’s armor somewhat resembled that of the Tang Family archers, yet it bore none of the Tang Family archers’ insignia.
The King of Wing looked at Gu Jiao curiously: "You’re saying he killed the Heavenly Wolf? How is that possible? How old does he look?"
With a slight smile, the silver-haired man replied, "Does Uncle still remember the youth I mentioned to you, the one connected to Yan Country?"
The King of Wing frowned and said, "You mean that he is the one?"
"Sir! We’ve found his belongings, right here!"
