Little Jingkong had just entered the palace; being a child, he was unaware of the people who frequented the palace. His sole purpose for coming was about a rent increase, which he had suggested to his brother-in-law the other day. However, his brother-in-law had deemed his request unreasonable.
Therefore, he wanted to consult his aunt about how to raise the rent reasonably.
Unfortunately, it seemed that his aunt was in a bit of a slump. Being a considerate child, he decided to put off the matter of the rent increase for the time being and transformed into an adorable creature, trying his best to act cute for a while. As a result, he was thrown out by his aunt with a straight face.
Too noisy...
Then he went to look for Qin Chuyu.
Lately, Qin Chuyu had adopted a little dog, and the two of them were running around chasing after it everywhere.
Apparently, the dog had caught the scent of the Emperor and, while running, made its way to Bixia Hall.
When Qin Chuyu and Little Jingkong arrived at the entrance of Bixia Hall, they happened to see Huangfu Xian basking in the sun at the doorstep.
Having never seen a wheelchair before, they were quite curious about it.
Little Jingkong walked up and looked over Huangfu Xian’s wheelchair, exclaiming, "Wow! What kind of chair is this? It even has wheels!"
Compared to this weird chair, Qin Chuyu was more focused on the person, asking with puzzlement, "Who are you? How come I’ve never seen you before?"
The Imperial Palace was Qin Chuyu’s home. He might not recognize every palace maid or eunuch, but he should know someone who seemingly had quite the presence.
Huangfu Xian sneered at the two figures in front of him, a tiny bean and a larger bean, "And who might you be?"
Qin Chuyu introduced himself solemnly, "I am Qin Chuyu, and this is my classmate Jingkong."
Huangfu Xian looked Qin Chuyu up and down and, with a snicker, glanced at Little Jingkong, sarcastically remarking, "You’re so big and still studying with such a small child. Are the princes of Zhan Country all that dull?"
Qin Chuyu bristled, "Who are you calling dumb? I’m not dumb at all! I study in the Genius Class at Guozijian!"
Huangfu Xian let out a scoff, "Packed in, I guess?"
"You!"
Qin Chuyu was left red-faced and speechless.
Little Jingkong was completely captivated by the large wheels of the wheelchair and didn’t pay attention to their conversation. He squatted down and earnestly began examining the large wheel in front of him.
Qin Chuyu stood with his hands on his hips and stomped his foot, an action that had become habitual due to spending time with Little Jingkong. Unconsciously, he had picked up a bit of Little Jingkong’s mannerisms.
He said angrily, "How dare you speak to me like that! Do you know who I am? I’m the seventh prince of Zhan Country! If you keep being rude, I’ll have someone beat you up!"
Far from being intimidated, Huangfu Xian coldly stretched out his hand and pushed Qin Chuyu to the ground!
Unfortunately, Little Jingkong was squatting on the ground observing the wheel and, when Qin Chuyu fell, he was knocked over as well.
"Ouch!" cried Little Jingkong.
His little foot had been squashed by Qin Chuyu’s backside!
When the Emperor and Princess Ning An arrived, they saw two children lying on the ground.
Eunuch Wei also followed them out, quickly stepping forward, first pulling Qin Chuyu off the top, then yanking Little Jingkong up from underneath.
"Are you alright? Did you hurt yourself anywhere?" he asked worriedly.
Little Jingkong’s right foot was a bit sore.
Qin Chuyu, with more padding, wasn’t hurt from the fall, but he was furious!
He spun around and was about to launch himself at Huangfu Xian.
"Stop!" boomed the Emperor.
Eunuch Wei hurriedly held onto Qin Chuyu.
