Lianlian parted her lips, "Princess."
Princess Ning An’s eyes flickered, "Have an imperial physician stand guard."
"Eh!"
...
Princess Ning An’s expression had turned as cold as ice.
She quietly stood by the window, looking out at the silent courtyard covered in snow and then gazed at the crescent moon in the sky.
All of a sudden, it was as if she had made a decision, and she turned toward the direction of Huaqing Palace.
Huaqing Palace.
Eunuch Wei had just finished wiping the emperor’s body and was about to head to the small kitchen to find something to eat. He had barely stepped into the garden when a sudden figure leaped out and covered his mouth!
He let out a muffled sound of shock.
"It’s me!"
The other person whispered.
Eunuch Wei was startled.
Once the person removed their hand, Eunuch Wei turned around, exclaiming in astonishment, "Eunuch Qin?"
"Shush." Eunuch Qin gestured for silence and pulled him behind a large tree.
Eunuch Wei, puzzled, asked, "Weren’t you... supposed to have escaped? Why are you still in the palace?"
Eunuch Qin replied, "That day, I had indeed planned to leave, but after thinking it over, I was not at ease, so I decided to stay."
Eunuch Wei clicked his tongue and muttered, "Aren’t you afraid of being caught!"
Eunuch Qin replied, "I have served in the Imperial Palace for many years, finding a place to hide shouldn’t be difficult."
Eunuch Wei glared at him, "But you can’t be running here! It’s too dangerous! I’ll watch the palace maids for you in a moment; you need to leave quickly and not come back!"
That Eunuch Wei could still say this proved that he hadn’t turned traitor at heart.
Eunuch Qin heaved a sigh of relief inwardly. To be honest, he had mustered up a great deal of courage to seek out Eunuch Wei, as he was afraid that Eunuch Wei had truly turned traitor, which would mean that his appearance would spell his doom.
Eunuch Qin looked around and, lowering his voice, asked, "Tell me, what exactly happened in the Imperial Study Room that day? How did the emperor end up like this? And what’s the situation with the Dragon Shadow Guard around him?"
...
"Who’s there?"
As Princess Ning An passed by the small garden of Huaqing Palace, she saw the sneaky figures behind the large tree.
