The Primordial Record novel Chapter 1590

Chapter 1590: The First Thirst

Caine found himself being drawn across space and time to the forehead of Rowan, and he was nearly killed by the heavy fumes of death emerging from the pores of Rowan’s skin.

The killing blade he had driven into the head of Rowan was still in place and had not been removed, and the top half of his head was going black with what appeared to be necrosis, and gray fumes of death were pouring out from his head in significant volumes.

If his decaying head was any problem to him, Rowan did not give any indication. His perception was wrapped around Caine as if to prevent him from escaping, while an unknown force, powerful beyond belief, was directing Caine’s body back to the sword.

In the blink of an eye, he was in front of his sword, and then he thought he saw someone in front of him, harshly blinking his eyes and pushing his perception forward, he confirmed that there was indeed someone there in front of him, standing still beside the sword.

An errant gust of wind blew across, and the figure was exposed, and Caine gasped,

"Green, what are you doing here? Is all of this a ploy of Prism? It does not matter, save me from this place, and I promise to tell you a great secret. Please, we have to hurry!"

The figure that was revealed, Green, smiled at Caine and said, "Red, I never knew you to be one to beg. I like the sound of that. Do it again."

Caine gaped in astonishment, "Elura! What the fuck is wrong with you? This is no time for games. Look around us. We are in the center of a primordial-level war. I don’t know how you got here, but we need to leave. Now!"

Elura’s smile deepened. "Don’t worry. You and I were brought here for a reason, and it is about to be fulfilled. Instead of whining like a child, take hold of that blade, betrayer. Your work is not done."

Before he could argue, Caine’s body moved, and his hand seized the hilt of the blade. A horrifying force began to emerge from the weapon and pour into his body, and Caine’s face went pale as he noticed that it contained all the killing power he had pushed inside Rowan. There was also something else mixed inside this killing power, something extremely powerful, something that matched and exceeded the power of Primordial Chaos!

Fear filled the soul of Caine as he could not imagine what could hold such power, and looking at the smiling face of Elura with the weird rune branded on her forehead, he stammered,

"You are not her... what are you?"

"Ah, your perception was always above average, but surely you should have recognized me by now, after all, I whispered in your mind the thoughts of a Primordial when you were under his feet."

Almost freezing in place, Caine seized every last bit of courage he had, which had surprisingly grown a tremendous amount as he began to be involved in the affairs of Primordials, and he managed to squeeze out a few words,

"What are you?!"

Elura shook her head and turned around, as her body faded away,

"Little betrayer, I think you know the truth. You saw me as I entered Reality, and you bowed down and worshiped at my feet, with the blood of your brothers staining your hands."

Caine fell to his knees, as his soul screamed,

"The First Thirst...

The Whisper after the last breath....

The pause between the pulse and the silence...

The hollow where the echo has been...

I have heard your voice...

In the hush before sleep...

In the gasp before the plunge...

The Whisper of the oldest shadow...

"Pri—Primordial Soul!"

However, to be able to deceive Primordial Chaos, mastering the blade was not enough because Rowan was still at the sixth-dimensional level and could comprehend the true intent and will of Primordial Chaos, so it was helpful that he had help from his mother, Primordial Soul.

Knowledge had weight.
