The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] novel Chapter 115

Chapter 115: Quack Doctor

Meanwhile, the alleged gullible businessman who owned much of the Empire’s industrial businesses could only watch as the chipmunk ’cleaned’ every nook and cranny.

It was a fascinating sight.

Xavier thought it would take several trips, but it was over before an hour passed. And had they been allowed to zoom past everything, it would’ve likely taken less time.

Luca kept swaying around as he reveled in the feeling of not being too poor. At least now, if anyone needed a sudden revival, he likely would have enough funds.

But even then, he hoped not to reach that point because they weren’t affordable by any means, and what if they hurt or left side effects?

D-29’s prompt that the area was free of contamination made Luca turn toward Xavier.

He was just about to tell him they could leave when he noticed how Xavier suddenly tensed.

It was after reading an urgent message sent by Deputy Officer Curtis.

The Marshal’s spiritual imbalance suddenly progressed while they contained the contaminated goods. Apparently, he had been siphoning the fruits for reallocation to those with severe cases.

It would have been fine had he not needed to use his abilities to blanket the corruption while they were cryofreezing the port.

But the sudden use depleted him of the energy he had just gained, which resulted in a relapse.

"What’s wrong?" Luca asked, noticing the worried look on Xavier’s usually stoic face.

"It’s the Marshal. His condition has gotten worse, and the HQ is preparing for an evacuation just in case his condition progresses."

"Is it already that bad?" Luca was initially surprised, but he remembered the articles he had seen. If you asked him, it certainly resembled those Espers going on a rampage.

It was just that, in this case, the corruption was an external influence that affected the person’s internal balance.

But what exactly was madness to begin with?

Luca wasn’t actually sure.

All he’s only ever seen were the devastating effects of an Esper rampage. And because he never had the chance to actually check the bodies of those maddened or rampaging Espers, he just couldn’t make a direct comparison.

It was a shame.

Really, it was. It was a shame for a world that could’ve been saved.

However, that was that—just a could’ve been.

But this? This was now his reality. And right now, Luca could feel Xavier’s energy in turmoil.

It was clear that he was bothered far more than he was letting on. It was something the mountain giant wouldn’t be able to hide from a Guide who’d seen his body in different states.

Luca’s fists clenched as he decided on what to do. On the one hand, he was capable of helping, but on the other hand, he was afraid of repeating his past.

What if something like that happens again?

Will he be imprisoned again?

But what about the Marshal and everyone around him?

"Host, do you want to get out of here?" D-29 asked as the Host’s vitals didn’t seem so good.

Luca really wanted to flee.

But flee to where?

And flee from whom?

From the people who have been nothing but nice to him?

It was a turmoil like no other. He wasn’t sure if he liked the idea of having a choice, but apparently, that was harder because it gave him control over someone’s life.

Xavier watched the conflicted Luca practically bruise his lip over this.

Like a small animal, Luca tried to look everywhere but Xavier’s face.

What if he was crazy enough to drag him there to do something?

How would he fight back against someone much stronger?

But none of that happened.
