The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] novel Chapter 189

Chapter 189: Allotment

D-29 Felt it had been successful in today’s pitch and was waiting for their reactions.

At first, the little system was obviously hoping for gleeful cries and a few applauses.

But nothing.

Okay...

Maybe it wasn’t as ground-breaking as the system imagined it to be, but it couldn’t be that bad, right?

However, it’s been a moment of awkward silence, and still nothing.

"..."

And by now, D-29 was already okay with at least getting violent reactions!

At least someone would be reacting!

Because, as of the moment, everyone looked odd, like they’ve all lagged like those elder systems that always took a while to process.

So, the anxious system had to call forth Sid, who was now being interrogated for saying that this was a really good idea to pitch.

"What did you expect them to say after you’ve told them about solving part of the Empire’s biggest crisis?" Sid sighed as he remembered having the same reaction when D-29 kept on pinging him for this.

"Then why are they like that?"

"Just give them a moment."

"Look, just yesterday, the Masters kept on malfunctioning so badly that I had been torn between a glittering sea and a tsunami." Explained Sid as he recalled how different the Masters were last night.

They’ll eventually cope.

Hopefully.

Because the people were really left loading as they tried thinking of the implications.

Luca, in particular, had singing birds in his head as he imagined going into the light to ascend.

How could he not when this meant being able to collect more CP?!

And even better, others could do it too!

Then he remembered one important tidbit and decided to come back down to Nova.

And Sid was alerted just as this happened.

The new Master’s sea of consciousness was tranquil, and this extreme tranquility was one that he feared more than the storms.

Because it usually was a sign of impending crime!

Sid noticed that whenever his new Master decided to do something alarming, it would always come after this kind of tranquility.

"D-29, just how many of these cubes do we have?" Luca asked, in a tone so measured it barely gave away the intense vibrations in his heart.

"!"

"As of now, there are five cubes, Host!" Immediately responded the little system that had been waiting for so long.

"Thank you, D-29. I wouldn’t know where we all would be without you!"

Luca was eternally grateful as his ears rang.

*Ka-ching! Ka-ching!*

Then, the Host grinned.

And the little system was all pops and poppers, even as Sid noticed the unusual smile sported by the new Master.

Not his usual polite, well-mannered, responsible smile.

No.

This was the grin of a man on the edge of financial ruin, grasping at the single, beautiful lifeline that had been thrown his way.

Five.

He had five Purification Chamber containment cubes.

Five beautiful, corruption-storing, CP-generating artifacts.

And now he had to decide who to bless with this divine burden.
