Ollie was unsure why the heavens had been testing him, but with his good luck in meeting Luca, there ought to be a balancing exchange.
And maybe this was it.
After all, good luck didn’t come without a price.
For the poor mop was right.
His room was really haunted!
Haunted by a giant beast that was currently gunning for him.
And Ollie could only scream as he ran out for his very flimsy life!
"HEEEEEELLLLLPPPPPPP!" Screeched the young man who was clearly not built for this.
And he was so not built for this that once he realized that there was no escaping that looming creature, Ollie opted to whisk himself to safety and into the Dungeon space.
"D-29! If you could hear me, please tell my brother to leave the house! There is a demon in the Manor!" Ollie shivered as he announced his plight.
"!!!"
Now, this was something else. For even D-29, who had been on guard since earlier, was surprised to learn that a demon had infiltrated the premises!
How could there be a demon when the little system followed Sid’s warnings to the letter?
"Guarantee absolute silence and ensure the security is on point."
And the Dungeon system made sure to do just that.
So, when the Manor’s AI initially activated the first alarm, D-29 silenced it after confirming that no uncontracted personnel had been moving around.
And it did that for the next alarms that were clearly set to disturb the peace!
Why would it alarm about those gifts that were left for the Host?! Especially when those were materials that were definitely not trash!
So, the faithful little system, which did not want its Host to faint, made sure to cancel this unreasonable alarm!
Hmph!
But there it was again! This time, it was considering the Duke, who owned the entire Manor, as a burglar!
Tsk, tsk.
No wonder Sid told him to pause counting sheep to check for possible problems!
Because this Manor’s AI was surely out there blocking what Sid mentioned as a monumental step in a relationship.
Who would be blamed if D-29 could not get the promised translator once the life-changing event failed?!
Surely, no one but this AI!
But what was this talk about demons?!
In the first place, what kind of demon did they get?
Was it the demon that looks good and always gets the girl?
Or that one with one eye and barely a leg?
D-29 had several questions, but soon enough, they would figure out just what kind of demon had been lurking in the shadows.
Everyone who could come got there as soon as possible, and Ollie was delighted to see that his brother was all right!
"Brother! You’re safe!" Ollie rushed out to check on his good brother as the others watched this uncanny reunion.
"I am, brother, but more than that, what happened to you?" Luca was worried because D-29’s report sounded urgent, and with how Ollie looked right now, it must have been really bad!
"It was that thing! I knew it! Last night, I felt like the room was haunted, and look, I was right! So, I immediately left and hunkered down for safety."
"Last night?"
Ollie nodded earnestly.
"I have been hearing the oddest noises since yesterday." Ollie started re-telling what had happened to him yesterday.
At first, he’d been hearing scuffling noises but ignored them. But then, while he was doing his late-night banana chip snacking while watching a few live streams, the noises started intensifying.
"Initially, he wanted to check it out. But I said no, because if he had watched enough shows, that’s how people die." Ollie wore a grim expression. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
