The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] novel Chapter 375

Chapter 375: Grill

But maybe she didn’t have to worry so much, for her baby and these other kids still had that youthful glow.

And it was something she hoped they’d be able to keep as they shouldered more and more responsibilities at such an early age.

For even now, she was shocked at just what her son could do.

Okay.

Duchess Amelia wasn’t actually sure what it was that he was unveiling, and most of the others weren’t either. But Cece, beside him, looked too proud to ignore, so this must be something good.

"..."

Thankfully, Ollie beat them all to the punch as he gawked at the contraptions before them.

"Wow, brother! What are these?" He said as he looked up and down these metal things that looked similar to the insides of those ovens they had back in the kitchen.

"Ah, these are called grills, brother!" Luca said with a grin as his eyes turned into those crescents that people adored.

Clearly, his good brother was excited about this, and so Ollie just had to ask.

"Are we going to use these for today?"

"Yes! While we have a few pre-prepared items courtesy of the kitchen staff, many of the items on the menu would be cooked while we eat."

"WHAT?!"

Now, that sounded pretty novel to all of them who normally cooked first and then ate after carefully monitoring their food for a long time.

"See, these grills would be on for as long as we need them, and we could continue adding what we feel like eating!"

"Although we should probably cook a few things ahead so people have something to snack on while waiting." Explained Luca, who figured people would start looking for something to munch on, and decided to grill vegetables like corn and sweet potatoes.

"Then does that mean we can’t really cook right now, brother?"

Ollie was slightly disappointed because that meant he’d have to wait hours before seeing glorious food, only to learn that they did infact need to start preparations earlier.

"I think they’ve actually started. Because we decided to prepare boxed meals for the guards who need to be on duty."

"!!!"

Now, this was something that Cece worked on after Luca asked if it were possible to create metal boxes that could be reused as food containers.

And for some reason, the dwarf wondered why no one ever thought about something like this.

But maybe it was because people barely cooked, and nutrient solutions could just be stored in the packs they came in.

But Cece resonated with the metal lunch boxes so much that she decided to make a set for herself, too.

After all, what was the point of being an artisan if she couldn’t do something like this?

And oh, what a smart thing that was, for when she saw how it was going to be used, her only regret was not making more, or bigger ones!

Just like Ollie, who was eyeing the metal containers dangerously.

"Our fish dish for the day is actually grilled milk fish, and I think this would be easy to learn because it is quite similar to the baked fish that most of you are familiar with!"

It was quite similar, alright, but also very different, for when Luca started putting in other things inside, all the spectators rushed to copy.

But all of this was after Duke Leander managed to show off his fish cleaning skills to his wife.

It was a rare moment, one that Butler Gary, and Steward Han allowed him to have, as the Duke probably practiced this at the expense of aquatic life endangerment.

But it was his time to shine, as many of their new members hadn’t gotten a chance to cook or taste this thing called fish.

"Honey, I shall clean and prepare the fish for you! See, our son taught us before, and I have practiced a lot!"

"Oh, yes! Papa has done well with cleaning the fish and has been very helpful in decreasing the workload," confirmed the precious son, who was really thankful for all the help.

And the Duchess would’ve been really proud if not for her husband turning into this goopy mess after being praised by their son.

"..."

But she guessed that Leander was likely contagious as Ollie also volunteered for his parents while Kyle had been voluntold by his elder brother.

Meanwhile, off to the side, Xavier had been quietly cleaning several fish and stacking them to the side, close to Luca. He was precise, practiced, and didn’t waste time as he finished more and finished first in the same breath.

What a competitive spirit.

However, Xavier wasn’t really competing with anyone, for if he did, then there might be no fish left once he was done. It was just that he estimated the number of fish they’d need based on the number of people and thought that they’d probably need a bit more.

"Luca, are we also preparing the fish for the actual dinner? If so, do you have an estimate of how many we’d need so we can help prepare them?"

"We’re not familiar yet with the cooking part of it, but we could definitely handle preparing the fish first."

That got the little chipmunk looking off to the side as he smiled up at Xavier. He really appreciated this, but said that many of the fish had actually been cleaned and prepared earlier, and that these ones were for dinner and the extras people might want.

And that what they’d need more help with was with packing the insides of these fish with the prepared ingredients.
